Declaring Portion of Mount Cook National Park to be Excluded from the Provisions of the Tourist Hotel Corporation Act 1955

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 11 of the Tourist Hotel Corporation Act 1955, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the lands described in the Schedule hereto, being portion of Mount Cook National Park, shall as from the date hereof cease to be administered by the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand for the purposes of the said Act, but otherwise shall remain part of the said park.
SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area containing 157 acres, more or less, being part Reserve 2652, situated in Blocks X and XIV, Mueller Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the north bank of Black Birch Stream in line with the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 34350; thence north-westerly generally to and along that boundary to the northernmost corner of the said rural section; thence by right lines bearing 282° 20', 1,186·8 links, and 327° 20', 2,350 links, to the south bank of Kitchener Creek; thence easterly generally along the south bank of that creek, to and south-easterly along the western side of a watercourse to Black Birch Stream; thence south-westerly generally along the northern bank of Black Birch Stream to the point of commencement; excepting thereout the portion of Main Highway 217 and legal roads within the above boundaries.
As shown on the plan marked T.H.C./03 deposited in the Head Office of the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand at Wellington, and thereon edged red, the said areas being numbered 9 on the said plan (S.O. Plan 8661). Portion of Mount Cook National Park.

Extending the Time for Forwarding the Report of a Commission Appointed to Inquire Into Improved Access by Land to the Port of Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty

To all to whom these presents shall come, and to:
Edgar Ravenswood McKillop, Esquire, C.M.G., O.B.E., M.INST.C.E., M.N.Z.I.E., of Wellington, Civil Engineer;
Edward Alan Millward, Esquire, O.B.E., of Wanganui, Company Manager; and
Robert William Stannard, Esquire, B.COM., of Wellington, Public Accountant:
GREETING:
WHEREAS, by Order in Council dated the 22nd day of August 1962, you, the said Edgar Ravenswood McKillop, Edward Alan Millward, and Robert William Stannard, were appointed to be a commission, pursuant to the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, to inquire into and report on divers matters related to improved access by land to the Port of Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty:
And whereas such commission was by the said Order in Council required to submit its report not later than the 30th day of November 1962:
And whereas it is expedient to extend the time within which such commission shall submit its report until the 28th day of February 1963:
Now, therefore, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the said Act and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, hereby declare and appoint that the time at or before which you, the said Edgar Ravenswood McKillop, Edward Alan Millward, and Robert William Stannard, shall submit your report aforesaid is hereby extended to the 28th day of February 1963:
And I hereby declare that the provisions of the aforesaid Order in Council, dated the 22nd day of August 1962, shall apply as fully and effectively in all respects as if the 28th day of February 1963 were the date originally fixed in the said Order in Council as the last day for the submission by such commission of its report.

Appointing a Qualified Person to be the Representative of Ashburton Borough on the South Canterbury Catchment Board

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated 2 February 1944, published in Gazette, 10 February 1944, Volume I, page 105, as amended by Order in Council dated 23 October 1956, published in Gazette, 25 October 1956, Volume III, page 1450, Ashburton Borough, was made a constituent district of the South Canterbury Catchment District in terms of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, and was thereby entitled to one elective representative on the South Canterbury Catchment Board:
And whereas, at the local body election set down for 13 October 1962, the said constituent district failed to elect a representative to the said Board:
Now therefore, pursuant to the said Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby appoint
George Glassey, Esquire, of Ashburton, Storeman, being a qualified person, to be the representative of the constituent district comprising Ashburton Borough on the South Canterbury Catchment Board.

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the land described in the First Schedule hereto being taken for street and the land described in the Second Schedule hereto being taken for the use, convenience, or enjoyment of a street.
