INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Waikiwi Loan No. 1, 1962, £150,000—First Issue of £70,000
“THAT, pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and
for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of
£70,000 authorised to be raised by the Invercargill City
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
supplying water and drainage to the Waikiwi, Grasmere, and
Collingwood areas of the city, the said Invercargill City
Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal one two nine
pence (0·129d.) in the pound on the rateable value on the
basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the
City of Invercargill; and that the said special rate shall be
payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every
year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 30
years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of
a resolution passed at a meeting of the Invercargill City
Council held on Tuesday, 28 August 1962.

Development and Expansion Loan 1962, £500,000—First Issue
of £130,000
“THAT, pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956,
and for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan
of £130,000 authorised to be raised by the Invercargill City
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
developing and expanding the waterworks, drainage, and street
systems of the city, the said Invercargill City Council hereby
makes a special rate of decimal two three nine pence (0·239d.)
in the pound on the rateable value, on the basis of the
unimproved value, of all rateable property in the City of
Invercargill; and that the special rate shall be payable on the
1st day of October in each and every year during the currency
of the loan, being a period of 30 years, or until the loan is
fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy
of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Invercargill City
Council held on Tuesday, 28 August 1962.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Wellington City Electricity Loan 1961 of £414,000
THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the
Wellington City Council held on Monday, the 3rd day of
September 1962:

Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purposes of providing the annual charges
on a loan of four hundred and fourteen thousand pounds
(£414,000) to be known as the Wellington City Electricity
Loan 1961 of £414,000 authorised to be raised by the Wellington
City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the
purpose of extending the city electrical system and erecting
buildings, the Wellington City Council hereby makes a special
rate of one hundred and ninety-three one thousandths of a
penny (0·193d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the
basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within
the whole of the City of Wellington; and that the said special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of
April in each year during the currency of the said loan,
being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is
fully paid off.”

EYRE CREEK RABBIT BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Eyre Creek Housing Loan No. 2, 1961, of £5,000
It was resolved at a special meeting of the Eyre Creek
Rabbit Board held at the Athol Hall, Athol, on Tuesday,
14 August 1962, at 2 p.m., that—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and
amendments thereto, the Eyre Creek Rabbit Board hereby
resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan, called the Eyre Creek Rabbit Board
Housing Loan No. 2, 1961, of five thousand pounds (£5,000),
authorised to be realised by the Eyre Creek Rabbit Board
under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing
land and erecting thereon houses, and purchasing land with
houses thereon, and erecting buildings for storage for the
use of the Board’s employees, the said Eyre Creek Rabbit
Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny
decimal point four four five eight (1·4458d.), per acre, of
all rateable property of the Eyre Creek Rabbit District;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan and be payable by equal
half-yearly instalments on the 31st day of March and the
30th day of September in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of 20 years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.”

I, Francis Campbell Carswell, secretary of the Eyre Creek
Rabbit Board, hereby certify that this is a true copy of
a resolution carried at a meeting held on 14 August 1962.

PALMERSTON NORTH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Library Building Loan 1961, £298,000—First Issue of
£100,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and its
amendments, and all other powers in that behalf thereunto
enabling it, the Palmerston North City Council doth hereby
resolve as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges
on a loan of one hundred thousand pounds (£100,000)
authorised to be raised by the Palmerston North City
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
erecting a building to accommodate a library, shops and
offices, and demolishing the existing building, the said
Palmerston North City Council hereby makes a special rate
of three hundred and eighty-four thousandths of a penny
(.384d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (upon
the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property
of the city of Palmerston North, and that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the
loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each
and every year during the currency of the loan, being a
period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

CONFIRMATION OF SPECIAL ORDER

RESOLVED, that, public notice having been given in the Auckland Star and New Zealand Herald on 21 July 1962 and 6
August 1962, the following resolution intended to operate as
a special order be confirmed:

Resolution:

“That, pursuant to section 53, subsection 2, of the municipal
Corporations Act 1954, the number of councillors exclusive
of the mayor be increased from six to eight.”

The common seal of the mayor, councillors, and citizens of
the Borough of Howick was affixed hereto on the 14th day
of August 1962 and dated 14 August 1962—

NORTHCOTE BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF MAKING SPECIAL ORDER TO RAISE LOAN

PURSUANT to section 13 (2A) of the Local Authorities Loans
Act 1956, notice is hereby given that the special order to
raise a loan of £18,000 to be known as Commercial Development
Loan No. 3, 1962, for the purpose of developing Northcote Shopping Centre and industrial areas and releasing
deferred payment licence on land has been duly made in
terms of the relevant statutes, and that 5 per cent or more
of the ratepayers have not demanded that a poll be taken
on the proposal.

Dated this 28th day of August 1962.

HASTINGS CITY COUNCIL

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT, pursuant to the provisions of section 53 (2) of the
Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Hastings City Council
hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:

“1. That the total number of councillors of the City of
Hastings, which at this date is 10, shall be increased to 12.
“2. That such increase shall take effect as from the date
of the gazetting of this special order.”
