RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
——
Road Improvement Loan 1962 £1,500

THAT, in pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Russell Town Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing payment of principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of fifteen hundred pounds authorised to be raised by the Russell Town Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of refunding the General Account, the Russell Town Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·25 pence (point two five) in the pound on all rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Russell Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Russell Town District was hereunto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Russell Town Council in the presence of—

RAETIHI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
——

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Raetihi Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £19,500 authorised to be raised by the Raetihi Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the erection of borough offices and library, the said Raetihi Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of 5½d. in the pound on the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Raetihi; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

TARANAKI HARBOUR BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES

Loan No. 10, 1962, £31,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Harbours Act 1950, the Taranaki Harbour Board Empowering Act 1955 (hereinafter called the 1955 Act), and the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and all other powers and authorities it thereunto enabling, the Taranaki Harbour Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges in respect of the Taranaki Harbour Board Loan (No. 10) 1962 of £31,000 authorised to be raised by the Board by the terms of a sanction made by the Local Authorities Loans Board on the 7th day of February 1962, as varied by the terms of a notification of variation made by the Secretary to the Treasury on the 10th day of May 1962, with the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council, pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and published in the Gazette of the 10th day of May 1962, No. 29, at page 726, the Board, in respect of the sum of £31,000 authorised to be borrowed by the 1955 Act, hereby makes and levies, pursuant to the 1955 Act, a special rate of one penny in the pound, two-thirds of a penny in the pound, and one-third of a penny in the pound, respectively, upon the capital value of all rateable property in the respective areas described in the First, Second, and Third Schedules to the 1955 Act and referred to in such Act as Rating Area No. 1, Rating Area No. 2, and Rating Area No. 3, respectively, subject, however, to the special rates made under the 1955 Act as security for other loans raised by the Board, namely, Loan No. 6 of £600,000 (of which £520,000 has been borrowed) and Loan No. 8 of £20,000 and part Loan No. 9 of £25,000.”

TAURANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Streets Loan 1962, £100,000

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council held on 25 June 1962, the following resolution was passed pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on the Streets Loan 1962, £100,000, authorised to be raised by the Tauranga Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving streets within the borough, the said Tauranga Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal three six six pence (0·366d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Tauranga; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

MATAMATA RABBIT BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
——

PURSUANT to section 47 of the Local Authorities Loan Act 1956, I, Keith Fourro Newman, secretary to the Matamata Rabbit Board, hereby give notice that the following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Board held on 20 June 1962.

That, pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Matamata Rabbit Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £4,700 authorised to be raised by the Matamata Rabbit Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing part of the cost of houses to be erected for the Board’s supervisor and to be purchased for the use of an employee of the Board, the said loan being known as the Housing Loan 1961, the said Matamata Rabbit Board hereby makes a special rate of one half-penny per acre upon the rateable area of all rateable properties of the Matamata Rabbit District comprising the whole of the Matamata Rabbit Board’s special rating area; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable on the same day and in the same manner as the general rate levied by the Board shall be payable in each year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL

PURSUANT to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Cambridge, taken on the 29th day of May 1962, on the proposal of the Cambridge Borough Council to borrow the sum of £102,540 for the purpose of increasing the supply, storage, and delivery of water to the borough by drawing and treating water from Lake Karapiro:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was ...... 371
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 438
The number of informal votes was ...... ...... ...... 11

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
