A PROCLAMATION

Pursuant to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act
1948, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-
General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as closed the road
described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

All that piece of road containing 26·3 perches situated in
Block XII, Mahurangi Survey District, Auckland R.D., and
adjoining or passing through parts of Allotments 120 and 173,
Mahurangi Parish; as the same is more particularly delineated
on the plan marked M.O.W. 5339 (S.O. 42071) deposited in
the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured green.

Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of
New Zealand, hereby declare the land described in the
Schedule hereto and comprised in a roadway laid out by the
Maori Land Court by an order dated the 20th day of October
1961, to be road.

Constituting Palmerston North United Urban Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 30th day
of May 1962

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

Pursuant to the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. On the 1st day of June 1962 the areas comprising the City
    of Palmerston North and the County of Kairanga and the
    Eastern Riding of the Oroua County are hereby constituted
    a united urban fire district by the name of the Palmerston
    North United Urban Fire District.

  2. The number of members to be elected to represent the
    Councils of the City of Palmerston North and the Counties of
    Kairanga and Oroua on the Board of the District hereby con-
    stituted shall be three, who shall be elected in the following
    manner:

(a) Two members by resolution of the Palmerston North
City Council.

(b) One member jointly by resolution of the Kairanga
County Council and the Oroua County Council.
