BOUNDARIES OF TAONUI RIDING

All that area in the Wellington Land District, Kairanga
County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the
middle of the Manawatu River in Block I, Arawaru Survey
District, in line with the south-western boundary of Section
389, Town of Fitzherbert, being a point on the boundary
of Kairanga County hereinbefore described, and proceeding
north-easterly generally up the middle of the Manawatu
River to a point in line with the middle of Maxwells Line;
then ce north-westerly to and along that middle line being
the boundary of the City of Palmerston North hereinbefore
described, and north-westerly, north-easterly, and south-east-
erly generally along the said city boundary and the production
of the south-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 10732, to the
middle of the Manawatu River; thence north-easterly gen-
erally up the middle of the Manawatu River to a point on
the boundary of Kairanga County hereinbefore described;
then ce north-westerly, south-westerly, and easterly generally
along the said county boundary to the point of commencement.

Boundaries of Borough of Tauranga, County of Tauranga,
and Waimapu Riding of County of Tauranga Defined


PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act
1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as
set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough
of Tauranga, the County of Tauranga, and the Waimapu
Riding of the County of Tauranga, the previous boundaries
having been altered by Order in Council made on the 27th
day of March 1961 and published in Gazette, 29 March 1961,
No. 22, page 496.


SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF TAURANGA

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at the intersection of the eastern
boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 25114, with the line of mean high
water on the shores of the Tauranga Harbour in Block IX,
Tauranga Survey District, and proceeding generally northerly
and easterly along the shores of the said harbour, to and
south-westerly along the shores of the Waikareao Estuary,
to and south-easterly along the south-western boundary of
the land taken for the East Coast Main Trunk Railway,
and again along the shores of the said estuary, to and
southerly along the shores of the Tauranga Harbour to
the southernmost corner of Allotment 887, Section 2, Town
of Tauranga, in Block XIV, Tauranga Survey District;
then ce southerly along the eastern side of a public road,
crossing the Waimapu River Estuary, to and north-easterly,
southerly, and south-westerly generally along the shores of
the Tauranga Harbour (Maungatapu Peninsula), and along
the left bank of the Kaitimako Stream to the north-eastern
corner of Hairini 1A 4C 1; thence westerly generally along
the northern boundaries of Hairini 1A 4C 1 and 1A 2, a right
line across Ohauiti Road, to and along the northern bounda-
ries of Hairini 5B and 1D, and along another right line
across the Waimapu River Estuary to the north-eastern
corner of Lot 93, D.P. S. 2360; thence westerly along the
northern boundary of the said Lot 93 and the northern
boundaries of Lots 92, 81, the northern end of a public
road, Lots 16, 116, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4,
and 3, D.P. S. 2360, and Lot 1, D.P. S. 1870, and the last-
mentioned boundary produced across Fraser Street to its
western side; thence northerly and north-westerly along the
western and south-western sides of the said street and Court-
ney Street, south-westerly along the south-eastern side of
Cameron Street to a point in line with the south-western
side of Twenty-third Avenue; thence north-westerly along
a right line across Cameron Street, to and along the said
south-western side of Twenty-third Avenue, the south-western
and western sides of Cook Street, and the south-western
side of Faulkner Street to a point in line with the south-
eastern boundary of Allotment 49, Suburbs of Tauranga;
then ce northerly along a right line across Faulkner Street
to and along the north-eastern side of the said street and
its production to and down the middle of the Kopurererua
Stream to a point in line with the southernmost boundary
of Lot 64, D.P. S. 2364; thence westerly along a right
line to and along the said southernmost boundary, to
and northerly along the eastern boundaries of part Lot 2
and Lot 1, D.P. 17807, and north-westerly along the north-
eastern boundaries of the said Lot 1 and part Allotment
79, Te Papa Parish shown on D.P. 7410, and that last-
named boundary produced to the middle of Cambridge
Road; thence westerly generally along a right line to and
along the northern and western boundaries of Allotment 80,

Te Papa Parish, and along the northern boundary of Lot 3,
D.P. 11768; thence northerly generally along the eastern
boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 10920, along a right line
across State Highway No. 2, to and along the north-western
boundaries of Lot 2 and part Lot 1, D.P. 23397, and along
the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 25114, to the point
of commencement.

Also Section 8, Block X, Tauranga Survey District (Recrea-
tion Reserve), known as Motuopuhi or Rat Island.

BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF TAURANGA

All that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing in Block I, Katikati North Survey
District, on the shores of the Bay of Plenty known as Te
Ararimu, being the south-eastern corner of part Lot 1, D.P.
28882, and proceeding south-easterly generally along the
shores of the Bay of Plenty to the north-eastern corner of
Waewaehikitia No. 1 in Block IV, Waihi South Survey
District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of
Waewaehikitia No. 1 aforesaid, along a right line across
the East Coast Main Trunk Railway, to and along the
eastern boudaries of Urupa Block and Waewaehikitia 2B,
2A, and 3, along a right line across a public road, to and
along the eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 8636, along
a right line across State Highway No. 2, to and along the
eastern boundaries of Lots 2, 4, and 6, D.P. 35929, Lots 15,
14, part 13, 11, and 10, D.P. 8636, along the eastern bound-
aries of Tahunaroa 3A, and Section 6, Block VI, Waihi South
Survey District, to its south-eastern corner; thence along
a right line in the direction of the north-western corner
of part Section 15, Block XI, Rotoma Survey District,
to the northern boundary of Section 12, Block VII, Rotoma
Survey District; thence westerly generally along the northern
boundary of the aforesaid Section 12, along a right line
across the Rotoma-Matata Road, to and along the northern
boundary of Section 8, Block VII, aforesaid, along the
northern boundaries of Sections 15 and 18, Block VI, Rotoma
Survey District, and along a right line being that boundary
produced to the middle of the Pongakawa-Rotoehu road;
then ce north-westerly generally along the middle of that
road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section
2, Block I, Rotoma Survey District; thence westerly generally
along a right line to and along the aforesaid northern
boundary and along a right line being the last-mentioned
boundary produced to the middle of the Pongakawa Stream;
then ce up the middle of that stream, to and along the
northern boundaries of part Rotoiti 5B, 5A, part 4, and 3V,
crossing the intervening Kaikokopu and Maniatutu Roads,
and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary
produced to the middle of the Pokopoko Stream; thence
down the middle of that stream to a point in line with
the northern boundary of part Waipapa 1D; thence along a
right line to and along that northern boundary and along
another right line, being the last-mentioned boundary pro-
duced to the middle of State Highway No. 33; thence northerly
generally along the middle of that highway to a point in
line with the north-eastern boundary of Okere 1E; thence
westerly generally along a right line to and along the north-
eastern boundary of the said Okere 1E and along a right
line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the
middle of the Kaituna River; thence down the middle of
that river to a point in line with the northern boundary of
Ngatipahiko B 1B; thence along a right line to and along the
northern boundary of the said B 1B, along the northern
boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block II, Rotoiti Survey
District, the abutment of Kapukapu Road and the northern
boundary of Section 9, Block I, Rotoiti Survey District, and
along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced
to the middle of the Mangorewa River; thence up the
middle of the said river to and up the middle of the Ohau-
para Stream to a point in line with the north-western boundary
of Section 13, Block III, Rotorua Survey District; thence
along a right line to and along that north-western boundary,
to and along the north-eastern boundary of Taumata 3A 1B
to its intersection with a right line between the westernmost
corner of Section 9, Block V, Horohoro Survey District,
and Trig. Station 27 (Puwhenua), being the easternmost
corner of Block VII, Tapapa East Survey District; thence
northerly generally along the said right line to Trig. Station
27 aforesaid, and along another right line to Trig. Station
146 (Te Weraiti), being the westernmost corner of Block
IV, Opoutihi Survey District; thence along another right
line to Trig. Station 909 (Waianuanu), being the eastern-
most corner of Block XVI, Wairere Survey District; thence
along the generally north-eastern boundaries of Okauia No. 1,
Maurihoro A (Crown land), Maurihoro B and Waiharakeke
East 5, 1A, 1C 2B 2, and 1C 1A, part Section 20, Block III,
Wairere Survey District, as shown on D.P. 28359, along
a right line across Thompsons Track, part of Section 20,
shown on D.P. 4110, part Section 20, shown on D.P. 26605,
another part of Section 20, Block III, aforesaid (State forest,
Gazette, 1955, page 1829), Lot 5, D.P. 25781, to the northern-
most angle in its northern boundary; thence again northerly
generally along the eastern boundary of the original Aroha
Block as shown on M.L. 3062, being through State forests
in Block X, Aongatete Survey District, and Blocks VII and
XI, Katikati Survey District, to its intersection with a right
line between Trig. Station M.A. (Ngakuriawhare) on the
north-western boundary of Block II, Katikati Survey District,
and Trig. Station 567 (Te Aroha), being the westernmost
corner of Block XI, Katikati Survey District; thence south-
westerly along the said right line to Trig Station 567 afore-
