of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Bay of Islands Development

Pursuant to section 330 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on and from the
date of publication of this notice in the Gazette the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the
provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the
Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Ranana Development Scheme)

Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of
the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described
in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the
provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 21 March
1931 and published in the Gazette, 26 March 1931, Volume
I, page 720.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the
Maori Affairs Act 1953

Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of
the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described
in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the pro-
visions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 12 June
1930 and published in the Gazette, 26 June 1930, Volume II,
page 2054.

Exemption of Veteran Cars from Braking and Lighting
Requirements

Pursuant to subclause (1) of regulation 25A of the Traffic
Regulations 1956* (as inserted by regulation 2 of the Traffic
Regulations 1956, Amendment No. 4), the Commissioner of
Transport hereby exempts the vehicles specified in the Schedule
hereto from the requirements of the said regulations in regard
to service brakes, headlamps, and the dipping of lights,
provided that the owner is a member of the Vintage Car
Club of New Zealand (Incorporated); that the speed of the
vehicle is limited to 20 miles per hour; that the service brake
is capable of stopping the vehicle in a distance of 75 ft from
a speed of 20 miles per hour or the equivalent braking
efficiency for a vehicle which cannot attain this speed; and
that the headlamps display beams of light of sufficient power
to enable substantial objects and the nature of the road
surface at a distance of at least 100 ft directly in front of the
vehicle to be clearly visible during hours of darkness under
normal driving and atmospheric conditions to a driver of
normal vision.

Pursuant to section 13 (1) of the Meat Export Prices Act
1955, the Meat Export Prices Committee hereby gives notice

Law Practitioners Act 1955

Pursuant to the Law Practitioners Act 1955, notice is hereby
given that the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand
Law Society, on the 22nd day of February 1962, ordered that
James Francis Stewart, of Taihape, barrister and solicitor,
be suspended from practice as a barrister and solicitor for
a period of two years; and that he pay the sum of £78 15s.
costs to the New Zealand Law Society.

Return of Spirits Distilled in New Zealand

Pursuant to section 99 of the Distillation Act 1908 I hereby
publish the following information concerning spirits distilled
in New Zealand:

(a) Number of imperial gallons of spirits at the strength
of proof distilled in New Zealand received into
bonded warehouses during the year ended 31 Decem-
ber 1961=14,621.
(b) Number of imperial gallons of such spirits at the
strength of proof cleared and taken out of such
warehouses for home consumption = 1,407.
(c) Number of imperial gallons of such spirits at the
strength of proof cleared and taken out of such
warehouses for export = Nil.
(d) Number of imperial gallons of such spirits at the
strength of proof remaining in such warehouses on
the 31st day of December 1961 = 13,214.
