Boundaries of Borough of Port Chalmers Altered

COBHAM, Governor-General

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 31st day of January 1962

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. On and from the 1st day of April 1962 the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby included in the Borough of Port Chalmers.

  2. The alteration of the boundaries of the said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Otago Land District containing 54 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern extremity of Beach Street, Town of Port Chalmers, and proceeding south-westerly along the north-western side of that street to a point 20 links south-westward of the north-eastern extremity of Beach Street aforesaid; thence along a bearing 311° 42′, 158 links; thence south-westerly along a right line 1100 links to a point distant 110 links north-westward of the north-western side of Beach Street; thence south-easterly along a right line at right angles to the north-western side of Beach Street to that side of that street; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along the north-western and north-eastern sides of Beach Street to the southernmost corner of the railway land comprised in C.T. 75/164; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that railway land and its production to peg XVI, S.O. Plan 228c, Railway; thence north-westerly along a bearing 312° 53′ 47″ to a point in line with the north-western side of the George Street pier; thence north-easterly to and along that north-western side of that pier to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of the Port Chalmers Harbour Reserve comprised in C.T. 299/226; thence north-westerly, north-easterly, and again north-westerly to and along the north-eastern, south-eastern, and again north-eastern boundaries of the land comprised in C.T. 299/226 to the original high-water mark of the Otago Harbour; thence generally north-westerly and north-easterly along that original high-water mark of the Otago Harbour to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block I, Lower Harbour West Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to the point of commencement.

Also all that area containing 3 acres 2 roods, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the high-water mark of the Otago Harbour on the eastern side of Sawyers Bay in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 62, Sawyers Bay Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly along a right line to a point on the north-western boundary of Lot 51, D.P. 7074, in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 62 aforesaid; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that Lot 51 to its westernmost corner; thence south-easterly along a right line to the point of commencement.

Otaki Borough Council Declared a Leasing Authority Under the Public Bodies’ Leases Act 1908

PURSUANT to the Public Bodies’ Leases Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

THE Otaki Borough Council is hereby declared to be a leasing authority within the meaning of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act 1908.

Boundaries of County of Malvern and County of Tawera Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 31st day of January 1962

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (a) On and from the 1st day of April 1962 the area described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Malvern and included in the County of Tawera.
    (b) On and from the date aforesaid the area described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Tawera and included in the County of Malvern.

  2. The alteration of the boundaries of the said counties hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act 1956.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Malvern County, containing 1,100 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Waimakariri and Kowai Rivers, Block VIII, Kowai Survey District, and proceeding south-westerly along the middle of the Kowai River to a point on a line between the northernmost corner of Rural Section 5177 and the southernmost corner of Rural Section 5321; thence north-westerly along that line to the southernmost corner of Rural Section 5321; thence north-westerly along that line to the southernmost corner of Rural Section 5321; thence north-westerly, northerly, and north-easterly along the south-western, western and north-western boundaries of that section and the north-western boundary of Rural Section 4769 to the south-western boundary of Rural Section 4803; thence north-westerly along that boundary to the westernmost corner of the said Rural Section 4083; thence north-easterly along a right line to the northernmost corner of Rural Section 4739 and its production to the middle of the Waimakariri River; thence south-easterly down the middle of that river to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Tawera County, containing 400 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Rural Section 3719, Block XVI, Kowai Survey District, and proceeding northerly along the western boundary of that section and its production to the north-western side of a public road passing through Rural Section 3719; thence south-easterly along a right line to the intersection of the northern side of Auchenflower Road and a right line between the northernmost corner of Reserve 1524, Block V, Hawkins Survey District, and the southernmost corner of Rural Section 14156; thence north-westerly along a right line to the point of commencement.

Directing the Revision of District Valuation Rolls

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 31st day of January 1962

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Valuation of Land Act 1951, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of, the Executive Council, hereby directs that the district valuation rolls for the districts enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be revised by the Valuer-General as at 1 February 1962.
