Declaring an Access Way to be Under the Control and
Management of the Makara County Council

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 5th day of
February 1962
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 11 of the Housing Act 1955, His Excel-
lency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and
declares that the access way described in the Schedule hereto
shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be
under the control and management of the Makara County
Council.

SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 15·06 perches situated in
Block XI, Paekakariki Survey District, Wellington R.D., being
Lot 9, D.P. 17689, being part 2B, Kahutea. Part certificate of
title, Volume 762, folio 37, Wellington Land Registry.

Declaring Road in Block VII, Whangara Survey District,
to be Government Road

At the Government House at Wellington this 31st day of
January 1962
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders
and declares that the portions of road described in the Schedule
hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council,
become Government road.

SCHEDULE
GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT
ALL those portions of road situated in Block VII, Whangara
Survey District, Gisborne R.D., described as follows:

Varying an Order in Council Setting Apart Maori Freehold
Land as a Maori Reservation

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 31st day of
January 1962
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 439 (5) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby varies
the Order in Council made on 7 April 1943 and published in
Gazette, 15 April 1943, Volume I, page 441, and affecting
the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto,
by adding to the purposes set out therein the words “and
as a burial ground for Takurua Tamarau and his relatives
or descendants”.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets
apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule
hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of an urupa or
burial reserve for the common use and benefit of the members
of the Ngatiraka hapu of the Tuhoe tribe and other Maoris
resident of the locality.

Boundaries of County of Hawke’s Bay and City of
Hastings Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 31st day of
January 1962
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes
the following order.

ORDER

  1. On and from the 1st day of April 1962 the area described
    in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County
    of Hawke’s Bay and included in the City of Hastings.
  2. The alteration of the boundaries of the said county
    and the said city hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have
    been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

SCHEDULE
ALL that area situated in the Hawke’s Bay Land District,
Hawke’s Bay County, Heretaunga Riding, containing approxi-
mately 116 acres, bounded by a line commencing at a point
being the intersection of the south-eastern side of No. 2
State Highway (Karamu Road North) and the north-eastern
side of Collinge Road; thence south-westerly and north-westerly
generally along the boundary of the City of Hastings as des-
cribed in Gazette 1957, page 847, to the middle of Tomoana
Road; thence north-easterly generally along the middle of
that road to the middle of Coventry Road; thence south-
easterly along the middle of that road and its production to
and across the Wellington-Napier railway to the middle of a
road running parallel to the aforesaid railway; thence south-
westerly generally along the middle of that road to the middle
of Kenilworth Road; thence south-easterly along the middle
of that road to No. 2 State Highway (Karamu Road North);
thence south-westerly along the middle of the said highway
to a point in line with the north-eastern side of Collinge Road;
thence south-easterly to the point of commencement.
