And whereas the special order made by the said Board was
irregular or defective in that, contrary to paragraph (b) of
section 77 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 (the
provisions whereof apply to the said special order by virtue
of section 2 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and
section 27 of the Christchurch Tramway District Act 1920),
the resolution to raise the said loan was confirmed at a
subsequent meeting held later than the forty-second day after
the special meeting at which such resolution was passed:

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers of the district
have not been misled by such irregularity or defect as afore-
said and it is expedient to validate the same:

Now therefore, pursuant to section 130 of the Local
Authorities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-
General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the pro-
ceedings in connection with the raising of the said loan
shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the said
special order had been made in accordance with the pro-
visions of paragraph (b) of section 77 of the Municipal
Corporations Act 1954, and hereby further orders and de-
clares that the validity of the proceedings in connection with
the raising of the said loan or of the security for the said
loan shall not be questioned on the ground of the irregularity
or defect aforesaid.

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes
the following order.

ORDER

  1. On and from the 1st day of April 1962, the area described
    in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County
    of Marlborough and included in the Borough of Blenheim.
  2. The alteration of the boundaries of the said county and
    the said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have
    been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, Marlborough
County, containing 4 acres, more or less, bounded by a line
commencing at the junction of the west boundary of part
Section 23, Block IV, Taylor Pass Survey District, and the
present borough boundary (as defined in Gazette, 1959,
page 571) and proceeding easterly along the said borough
boundary to the centre line of Redwood Street; thence south-
erly along the centre line of Redwood Street to a point in
line with the southern boundary of part Section 23 herein-
before described; thence westerly and northerly to and along
the southern and western boundaries of part 23 to the point
of commencement.

Constituting an Underground Water Area and an Under-

PURSUANT to the Underground Water Act 1953, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following
order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Rotorua Borough Under-
    ground Water Authority Order 1961.
  2. On and after the date of the making of this order-
    (a) The area comprising that portion of the present
    Borough of Rotorua, and containing approximately
    3,611 acres, as defined in Gazette, 20 April 1950,
    Vol. I, page 471, shall be an underground water
    area.
    (b) The said underground water area shall be known as the
    "Rotorua Borough Underground Water Area".
    (c) The Underground Water Authority for the Rotorua
    Borough Underground Water Area shall be the
    Rotorua Borough Council.

PURSUANT to section 112 of the Public Works Act 1928, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders
and declares that the portion of road described in the Schedule
hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council,
become county road.

SCHEDULE
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT
ALL that portion of road situated in Block VII, Opunake
Survey District, Egmont County, known as Feaver Road,
commencing at Opua Road and proceeding generally in a
south-easterly and south-westerly direction for a total distance
of approximately 46 chains, adjoining Sections 5, 6, 7, and 8,
Block VII, Opunake Survey District, and terminating at the
north-eastern boundary of the aforementioned Section 8,
Block VII, Opunake Survey District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 4450
(S.O. 9283) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works
at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Authorising the Laying Off of a Street off Lorna Street in the

PURSUANT to section 186 of the Municipal Corporations Act
1954 and section 125 of the Public Works Act 1928, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby author-
ises the New Plymouth City Council to permit the laying
off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto at
a width for the whole of its length of less than 66ft, but not
less than 40ft, subject to the condition that no building or
part of a building shall at any time be erected on Lots 1 to
7 (inclusive) of a subdivision of the land shown edged green
on the plan marked M.O.W. 4154 referred to in the said
Schedule within a distance of 15ft from the side line of the
said street.

by admeasurement 1 rood 8 perches, more or less, being Lot

PURSUANT to section 274 of the Public Works Act 1928, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby author-
ises the Minister of Works to construct, maintain, and
control the irrigation works described in the First Schedule
hereto; and also hereby declares that the district to be
served by such irrigation works (herein referred to as the
Omakau Irrigation District) shall be that defined in the
Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
THE Omakau Irrigation Works (for the irrigation of the
Omakau Irrigation District) by means of water drawn from
the Manuherikia River and any tributary or tributaries
