Declaring an Access Lane for Speed Boats and Water Skiers

Pursuant to the Motor Launch Regulations 1958, the Minister of Marine hereby declares that, for a period of two years from the date of this notice, subject to compliance with the conditions set out in the Second Schedule hereto, the area of water described in the First Schedule hereto shall not be subject to regulations 9 and 10 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1958.

FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL that area of water in Lake Rotoiti situated in Block XIII, Motupiko Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at a point 296070 links south and 188560 links west of Botanical Hill and being 203 yd due south from the south-western corner of M. H. Pitts-Brown’s boatshed and proceeding north-easterly along a right line bearing 23° distance 187 yd to the south-eastern corner of the water-ski jetty; thence northerly along the eastern side of the said jetty to the edge of the water; thence easterly along the edge of the water for a distance of 50 yd; thence south-easterly along a line bearing 160° distance 233 yd; thence along a line bearing 277° distance 210 yd to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE
The access lane shall be marked as follows:

1. Brightly painted marker buoys each 50 yd apart commencing 50 yd from the edge of the lake at normal lake level shall be suitably moored along the easterly and westerly boundary lines.
2. On the edge of the lake at normal lake level at the ends of the easterly and westerly boundary lines there shall be placed a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft painted red with white letters containing the following notice:
