Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby vests the reserve described in the Schedule hereto in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waimairi, in trust, for public purposes.

Cancellation of the Vesting in the Ashburton County Council and Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve
Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Ashburton and revokes the reservation for gravel purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Time and Place of Elections by Fire Insurance Companies to Fill Extraordinary Vacancies on the Fire Boards for the Dargaville, Hikurangi, and Whangarei Urban Fire Districts
Pursuant to the provisions of the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 noon on Thursday, 18 January 1962, as the time, and the offices of the Auckland Fire and Accident Underwriters' Association, Victoria Arcade, Shortland Street, Auckland, as the place, for the holding of a meeting of representatives of the insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect one member to each of the Fire Boards for the Dargaville, Hikurangi, and Whangarei Urban Fire Districts.

Scheme of Control of Taupo-Nui-a-Tia College
Pursuant to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of Taupo-Nui-a-Tia College being controlled in accordance with the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools 1961 published in the Gazette of 8 June 1961, Volume II, page 820:
Provided that:
(a) Clause 10 of the said Standard Scheme shall be read as if the following proviso were added thereto:
"Provided that the first such election of members to the Board shall be held as soon as convenient, but not later than the third week of the month of December in the year 1961."
(b) The said Standard Scheme shall be read as if the clause numbered 12A set out in the Schedule hereto were inserted after clause 12:
(c) Clause 18 of the said Standard Scheme shall be read as if the following proviso were added thereto:
"Provided that every member appointed or elected for the first term of office of the Board shall hold office until the 31st day of May in the year 1965, whether or not that year is the third year after the year of his appointment or election."

NEW CLAUSE FOR STANDARD SCHEME
12A. (1) In every case where any member is to be elected by members of the school committees of the public schools, in accordance with paragraph (d) of clause 2 of Taupo-Nui-a-Tia College Board of Governors Order 1961, every such member shall be so elected by postal ballot in a manner determined by the South Auckland Education Board in the case of the first election, and by the Board of the school in the case of any subsequent election.
(2) The first such election shall be held on a date to be specified by the South Auckland Education Board, and such an election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1965 and in every third year thereafter, or as soon thereafter as may be convenient on a date to be specified by the Board. For the purpose of the first such election the Secretary of the South Auckland Education Board, or a deputy appointed by him, shall be the returning officer and for all subsequent elections the Secretary of the Board of Governors shall be the returning officer.
