Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto and the public domain described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby taken for soil conservation and river control purposes; and shall vest in the Hawke's Bay Catchment Board as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 22nd day of December 1961.
