constructing new office buildings in Trafalgar Street, the Nelson City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five thirty-seconds of a penny (5/32d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Nelson, comprising the whole of the said city; and such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 23rd day in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 10 years, or until such loan is paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed by the Nelson City Council at an ordinary meeting held in the City Council Chamber, Trafalgar Street, Nelson, on the 19th day of October 1961.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waikato County Council proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the portions of land described in the Schedule hereto for road. A plan of the portions of land proposed to be taken is open for public inspection at the office of the Waikato County Council, 451 Grey Street, Hamilton East, Hamilton, during 40 days from the date of the first publication of this notice. All persons objecting to the proposal must lodge their objections in writing at the office of the Council on or before the 7th day of December 1961.

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waipa County Council proposes to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a public road for which purpose the lands described in the Schedule hereto required to be taken by the said Waipa County Council under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928. A plan of the lands required to be taken as aforesaid is open for public inspection at the office of the Waipa County Council in Bank Street, Te Awamutu.

All persons affected are called upon to set forth in writing any well founded objections to the execution of such work or the taking of such lands and to send such writing to the Waipa County Council, Bank Street, Te Awamutu, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice.

"That, for the purpose of providing principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of three thousand five hundred pounds (£3,500) authorised to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the erection and equipping of a vehicle testing station, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixty-three twenty-five thousandths of a penny (63/25,000d.) in the pound (£·0000105) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the city of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

The Christchurch City Council, at a meeting held on the 18th day of October 1961, passed the above resolution.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Streets Reconstruction Loan (No. 11) 1961, £26,000

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of twenty-six thousand pounds (£26,000) authorised to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reconstructing Hutt Park Road, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and ninety-nine thousandths of a penny (0·199d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be incorporated and added to the consolidated special rate made pursuant to the provisions of section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and be payable yearly on or about the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 25 years, or until such time as the loan is paid off."

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at the meeting of the Lower Hutt City Council held on the 24th day of October 1961.

Maungaraki Development Loan (No. 2) 1961, £75,000

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of seventy-five thousand pounds (£75,000) authorised to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of developing land for housing at Maungaraki, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and four hundred and ninety-nine thousandths of a penny (1·499d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be incorporated and added to the Consolidated Special Rate made pursuant to the provisions of section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and be payable yearly on or about the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 6 years, or until the loan is paid off."

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at the meeting of the Lower Hutt City Council held on the 24th day of October 1961.
