FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
THAT, pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Franklin County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of eight thousand pounds (£8,000) authorised to be raised
by the Franklin County Council under the above-mentioned
Act for the purpose of erecting a new hall at Mangatawhiri,
the said Franklin County Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of decimal seven two pence (.72d.) in the pound
upon the rateable value (on the basis of unimproved value)
of all rateable property appearing on the valuation roll for
the Mangatawhiri Hall Special Rating Area for the County of
Franklin; and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable
yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year
during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years,
or until the loan is fully paid off."
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the
Franklin County Council held on the 25th day of September
1961.

NORMANBY TOWN COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Normanby Tractor Loan 1961
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Nor-
manby Town Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of one thousand two hundred pounds (£1,200) author-
ised to be raised by the Normanby Town Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing a new
tractor and subsidiary equipment, the said Normanby Town
Council hereby makes a special rate of one penny and six-
tenths of a penny (1.6d.) in the pound on the rateable value
(on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable pro-
perty of the Town of Normanby; and that the special rate
shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the
loan and that such special rate shall not be collected but
shall be met out of the Council's General Account and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every
year during the currency of the loan, being a period of eight
years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a
duly constituted meeting of the Normanby Town Council
held at the Council Chambers, Normanby, on the 18th day of
September 1961.

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waipa County Council
proposes to execute a certain public work, to wit, the con-
struction of a public road for which purpose the lands
described in the Schedule hereto require to be taken by the
said Council under the provisions of the Public Works Act
1928. A plan of the lands required to be taken as aforesaid is
open to public inspection at the office of the Council in Bank
Street, Te Awamutu.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in
writing any well founded objections to the execution of such
work or to the taking of such lands and to send such writing
to the Waipa County Council within 40 days from the first
publication of this notice.

GOLDEN BAY COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Counties
Act 1956.
Notice is hereby given that the Golden Bay County Council
proposes, under the provision of the above-mentioned Acts,
to execute a certain public work, namely, to provide an
esplanade reserve in the Tata Beach area; and for the purpose
of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given
that a plan showing the lands required to be taken is deposited
in the public office of the County Clerk to the said Council
situated in Commercial Street, Takaka, and is open for
inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office
hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of such lands who have any well
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in
writing and send the same, within 40 days from the first pub-
lication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council
Chambers, Commercial Street, Takaka.

CHRISTCHURCH TRANSPORT BOARD
PURSUANT to the Christchurch Tramway District Act 1920
and its amendments, the Christchurch Transport Board,
under section 4 of the Christchurch Tramway District Act
1920, appointed the under-mentioned as Commissioners to
determine the outer boundary of the Avon subdistrict,
following the amendment to the Board's boundary as pro-
mulgated under the Christchurch Tramway District Amend-
ment Act 1960.
We, the undersigned, each and severally have considered
this matter, and report that we have determined that the
outer boundary of the Avon subdistrict shall be the line of
the boundary of the extended area of the Board's district
as defined in the Schedule of the amendment No. 12 to the
Christchurch Tramway District Act 1920, being:
"All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Waimairi
County, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection
of the middle line of Avonhead Road and a line parallel to
and 2½ chains north-west of the north-western side of Wool-
dridge Road and proceeding north-easterly along the said
line parallel to Wooldridge Road and its production to the
middle of Wairakei Road; thence easterly along the middle
