A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the street described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby closed and added to the endowment described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Land Set Apart as Provisional State Forest Declared to be Subject to the Land Act 1948

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 19 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, acting on the joint recommendation of the Minister of Lands and of the Minister of Forests, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being provisional State forest reserve set apart by Proclamation dated the 24th day of October 1923, and published in Gazette, 1 November 1923, Volume III, page 2739, is required for settlement purposes; and in accordance with the provisions of the said Act such land shall, from and after the day of the gazetting hereof, cease to be provisional State forest land and shall become Crown land available for sale, lease, reservation, or other disposition under the provisions of the Land Act 1948.

PURSUANT to subsection (6) of section 5 of the Education Lands Act 1949, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby amend the Proclamation dated the 20th day of February 1961 and published in Gazette, 2 March 1961, No. 17, page 357, proclaiming a site for a public school to be vested in Her Majesty the Queen, by deleting the Third Schedule in the said Proclamation and substituting in lieu thereof the following Schedule:

Constituting Tauranga United Urban Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 2nd day of August 1961

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

O R D E R

1. On and from the 1st day of April 1962 the areas described in the Schedule hereto are hereby constituted a united urban fire district by the name of the Tauranga United Urban Fire District.

2. The number of members to be elected to represent the Councils of the Boroughs of Tauranga and Mount Maunganui and the County of Tauranga on the Board of the District hereby constituted shall be three, who shall be elected in the following manner:

(a) One member by resolution of the Tauranga Borough Council;

(b) One member by resolution of the Mount Maunganui Borough Council;

(c) One member by resolution of the Tauranga County Council.

3. The constitution of the Tauranga United Urban Fire District shall be deemed to have been effected under the Fire Services Act 1949.
