PURSUANT to section 96 of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares the reserve described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to the Coal Mines Act 1925.

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the East Taupo Rabbit District Order 1961.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The boundaries of the East Taupo Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 8th day of May 1957,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

REDEFINING THE BOUNDARIES OF EAST TAUP0 RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the South Auckland, Wellington, and Hawke’s Bay Land Districts, Taupo, Rotorua, and Whakatane Counties and Taupo Borough containing 936,400 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the middle of the mouth of the Tongariro River on the southern shore of Lake Taupo in Block VI, Pukete Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly generally along the southern and eastern shores of Lake Taupo to and down the middle of the Waikato River to and up the middle of the Paetataromoa Stream to and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of part Lot 2, D.P. 15253, and along the south-eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. S. 6306, Lots 5 and 4, D.P. S. 4985, Lots 5, 4, and 3, D.P. 19572, Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 30838, Sections 6, 5, and 4, Block III, Takapau Survey District, and Lot 1, D.P. 30839, to the easternmost corner of the last-mentioned Lot 1; thence along the southern boundaries of parts Paeroa East 3A, the southern and eastern boundaries of Paeroa East 3c, the eastern boundary of the said 3A, and the eastern and northern boundaries of Paeroa East 4A to and along the northern boundary of another part Paeroa East 4A to and northerly generally along the eastern boundaries of Section 29, Block XV, Paeroa Survey District, and Section 20, Block XI, Paeroa Survey District, the eastern end of a public road, along the eastern boundaries of Section 19, Block XI aforesaid, and Section 29, Block VII, Paeroa Survey District, and along the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 19 and the northern boundaries of Sections 20, 21, 30, 23, and a quarry reserve, all the aforesaid sections being of Block VII aforesaid, to and northerly generally along the western boundary of part Paeroa East 4B 1B 1, along the south-western boundary of part Paeroa East 4B 1A, the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of part Section 5, the generally eastern boundary of Section 8, both sections being of the said Block VII, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to and up the middle of the Waiotapu Stream to a point in line with the north-eastern side of a public road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 7, Block VII aforesaid; thence still northerly generally along a right line to and along that north-eastern roadside and along a right line across another public road to and along the north-eastern boundary of Section 9, Block VII aforesaid, and the north-eastern side of the Waiotapu Loop Road to and along the western boundary of part Paeroa East 1A West to and along the south-western side of State Highway No. 38 and the north-western side of State Highway No. 5 to the south-western boundary of Rotomahana-Parekarangi 6P 2B; thence easterly generally along a right line across the last-mentioned highway to and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said 6P 2B to and south-easterly generally along the southern boundaries of part Section 8, Block XV, Tarawera Survey District, and the intervening Section 48, Block III, Paeroa Survey District, along the north-western and south-western boundaries of Rotomahana-Parekarangi 5B 5A and the south-western boundaries of Rotomahana-Parekarangi 5B 5B, 5B 4B, and 5B 1 to the southernmost corner of the said 5B 1 in Block VIII, Paeroa Survey District; thence due south to and south-easterly generally along the north-eastern side of State Highway No. 38 to and southerly up the middle of the Rangitaiki River and up the middle of the Whaeo River to its confluence with the Otueta Stream in Block VI, Heruwi Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 74A (Otamapotiki) in Block VII, Heruwi Survey District; thence along another right line to Trig. Station A (Pohokura) in Block IX, Mangohopai West Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station 57 (Opureke) in Block VI, Runanga Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to the intersection in Block IX, Runanga Survey District, of the western side of State Highway No. 5 with the middle of the Waipunga River; thence down the middle of the Waipunga River to and up the middle of the Mohaka River and the Ripia River and along the north-western boundary of Pakaututu Block and its production to and up the Mohaka River to its confluence with the Mangatanguru Stream in Block VII, Kaweka Survey District; thence westerly along a right line to Trig. Station 41 (Maungorangi), along a right line to the source of the Rangitikei River near Trig. Station D (Ngapuketura) in Block VII, Waiotaka Survey District, and along a right line to the source of the Waipakihi River in Block X, Waiotaka Survey District; thence south-westerly down the middle of the said Waipakihi River to its confluence with the Waikato River; thence northerly down the middle of that river and the Tongariro River to the point of commencement.

Declaring the Wyndham and Tuturau Rabbit Districts to be United to Form the Mimiha Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 7332)

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares the Wyndham Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 26th day of November 1941,* and the Tuturau Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 10th day of April 1951†, to be united and to form one district having the name of the Mimiha Rabbit District, the boundaries of which shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto; and further declares that the basis on which the Rabbit Board for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of the land occupied by the rate-payer.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, Southland and Clutha Counties, containing by estimation 109,890 acres, more or less, and bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-western side of the Mataura-Clinton road in line
