HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 6 of the Public Works Amendment Act
1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
amends the Order in Council dated the 8th day of December
1943, published in Gazette, 16 Decemebr 1943, Volume III,
page 1492, and deposited in the Land Registry Office at
Dunedin as No. 5306, exempting the north-eastern side of
Kyle Street in the City of Dunedin from the provisions of
section 128 of the Public Works Act 1928, subject to a con-
dition as to the building line, by cancelling the condition
as to the building line imposed by the said Order in Council.

At the Government House at Wellington this 31st day of
May 1961
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, at the request of the Minister of
Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit
Destruction Council, hereby declares the Hautapu Rabbit
District which was constituted by Order in Council on the
28th day of June 1950,* the Maungakaretu Rabbit District,
which was constituted by Order in Council on the 20th day
of February 1951†, the Moawhango Rabbit District, which
was constituted by Order in Council on the 30th day of
October 1922‡, and the Pukeokahu-Taoroa Rabbit District,
which was constituted by Order in Council on the 9th day of
July 1923§, to be united and to form one district having the
name of the Taihape Rabbit District, the boundaries of
which shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto; and
further declares that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to
be established for the said district shall first levy its general
rate shall be the acreage of the land occupied by the
ratepayer.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE TAIHAPE RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, Borough of
Taihape, Town District of Mangaweka, and Counties of
Taupo, Rangitikei, Wanganui, and Waimarino containing
722,100 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing
at Trig. Station H (Paretetaitonga) in Block XI, Ruapehu
Survey District, and proceeding easterly along a right line
to the source of the Waikato River; thence north-easterly
generally down the middle of that river to and up the middle
of the Waipakihi River to its source and along a right line
from its source to the source of the Rangitikei River near
Trig. Station C (Ngapuketura) in Block VII, Waiotaka
Survey District; thence southerly generally down the middle
of the said Rangitikei River to a point in line with the
north-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Pukeotahu
Survey District; thence south-easterly generally to and along
the generally north-eastern boundary of that section to Trig.
Station C (Check); thence southerly generally along a
right line to Trig. Station H (Colenso), along the southern
boundary of Lot 2 of Section 2, Block II, Ruahine Survey
District, and the eastern boundary of Section 2, Block VI,
Ruahine Survey District, and its production to the middle
of the Kawhatau River; thence westerly generally down the
middle of that river and the Rangitikei River to a point
due east of a point on the centre line of the North Island
Main Trunk Railway at the north end of the Mangaweka
Tunnel; thence due west to the said point; thence north-
westerly generally along the said centre line to a point in
line with the north-eastern boundary of Pouwhakarua
1E 2a; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary
and the north-eastern boundaries of Lot 1. D.P. 14483, and
Lot 1, D.P. A/2399 and the production of the last-men-
tioned boundary to and along the north-eastern boundary
of Lot 2, D.P. 14483, and along a right line to and along
the north-eastern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 14483, and that
boundary produced to and along the north-eastern bound-
aries of part Lots 7 and 6, D.P. 465, and the last-mentioned
boundary produced to and along the north-eastern bound-
aries of part Lot 6, D.P. 465, and Section 2, Block XII,
Tiriraukawa Survey District, and the production of the
last-mentioned boundary to and along the north-eastern
boundaries of Lot 5, D.P. 465, and Run 32 in Blocks VIII
and VII, Tiriraukawa Survey District, and the production
of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Manga-
papa Stream; thence northerly generally up the middle of
that stream to the middle of the Taheke East Road; thence
westerly generally along the middle of that road and the
Taheke West Road to a point in line with the eastern
boundary of Section 17, Block II, Tiriraukawa Survey
District; thence northerly generally to and along that bound-
ary and the eastern boundaries of Sections 16 and 15, Block
II, Tiriraukawa Survey District, to the easternmost corner
of the said Section 15; thence westerly along the northern
boundary of that section and its production to the middle
of Mangamahoe Road; thence southerly along the middle
of that road to a point in line with the northern boundary
of Section 11, Block II, Tiriraukawa Survey District; thence
westerly generally to and along that boundary, the western
boundary of the said Section 11, and the northern boundary
of Section 1, Block II, Tiriraukawa Survey District, and its
production to the middle of the Karetu North Road; thence
northerly generally along the middle of that road to a point
in line with the northern boundary of Section 14, Block I,
Tiriraukawa Survey District; thence westerly to and along
that boundary and the northern boundary of Section 9,
Block I, Tiriraukawa Survey District, and its production to
the middle of the Turakina River; thence northerly gener-
ally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the
western boundary of Section 66, Block XIII, Maungakaretu
Survey District, to and along that boundary and its produc-
tion to and along the generally western boundary of the
said Section 66 to the southern boundary of Section 63,
Block XIII, Maungakaretu Survey District; thence north-
westerly generally along that boundary and the western
boundary of the said Section 63 and its production to and
along the middle of Hales Road to a point in line with the
south-western boundary of Section 70, Block XIII,
Maungakaretu Survey District, to and along that boundary
and the south-western boundary of Section 71, Block XII,
Ngamatea Survey District, and its production to and down
the middle of the Koukoupo Stream to its confluence with
the Whangaehu River; thence northerly generally up the
middle of that river, the Tokiahuru Stream, and the Man-
gaehuehu Stream to its source; thence northerly along right
lines to Trig. Station Ruapehu and Trig. Station H (Parete-
taitonga), the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Maungakaretu Rabbit
District Order 1961.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the
date of its notification in the Gazette. - The boundaries of the Maungakaretu Rabbit District,
which was constituted by Order in Council on the 20th day
of February 1951,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as
from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the
said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

BOUNDARIES OF THE MAUNGAKARETU RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District in the Borough
of Taihape, the Town District of Mangaweka, and the
Counties of Waimarino, Wanganui, Rangitikei, and Taupo
containing 506,000 acres, more or less, bounded by a line
commencing at the confluence of the Whangaehu River and
the Tokiahuru Stream in Block IX, Karioi Survey District,
and proceeding northerly generally up the middle of that
stream and the Mangaehuehu Stream to its source; thence
northerly along right lines to Trig. Station Ruapehu and Trig.
Station H (Paretetaitonga); thence easterly along a right
line to the source of the Waikato River; thence north-easterly
generally down the middle of that river to and up the middle
of the Waipakihi River to its source, and along a right line
from its source to the source of the Rangitikei River near
Trig. Station C (Ngapuketura) in Block VII, Waiotaka
Survey District; thence southerly generally down the middle
of the said Rangitikei River to a point in line with the
