HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
-
(1) This order may be cited as the Meringa Rabbit District Order 1961.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. -
The boundaries of the Meringa Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 14th day of August 1940,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE MERINGA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL the area of approximately 455,000 acres in the South Auckland and Wellington Land Districts in the Taumarunui and Taupo Counties bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ongarue River in line with the western boundary of Section 2, Block X, Hurakia Survey District, and proceeding generally easterly up the middle of that river to its source near Trig. Station No. 1390 (Pureora) in Block III, Hurakia Survey District; thence generally southerly along the western boundary of part Tihoi No. 3B Block and the western boundary of Waihaha No. 3A Block to the southernmost point of that block; thence easterly generally along the southern boundaries of Waihaha No. 3A Block and Waihaha No. (3D 1 and 3E 4) C Block to the western boundary of Hauhungaroa No. 2c Block; thence southerly along that boundary to its intersection with the middle of the Whanganui Stream; thence easterly down the middle of that stream to the shore of Lake Taupo; thence southerly generally along the shore of Lake Taupo to and up the middle of the Tongariro River and the Waikato River to its source in Block XII, Ruapehu Survey District; thence westerly along a right line to Trig. Station H (Paretetaitonga) in Block XI, Ruapehu Survey District; thence northerly along a right line to Trig. Station D (Ngauruhoe) in Block XVI, Tongariro Survey District, and along a right line between the last-mentioned trig. station and the middle of the mouth of the Waihi Stream in Block V, Puketi Survey District, to and generally north-westerly down the middle of the Wanganui River, along the north-eastern and northern boundaries of the Borough of Taumarunui, as described in Gazette, 1910, page 3231, to and up the middle of the Ongarue River, to and generally easterly up the middle of the Mangatukutuku Stream, to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 1 and 2, Block III, Tuhua Survey District, along the western and generally northern boundaries of Section 3, Block IV, of that survey district, to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 13, Block XIV, Ongarue Survey District; thence along a right line across a public road to and along that south-eastern boundary, along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 4, 5, and 6, the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Section 1 and the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, the aforesaid sections being of Block IV, Tuhua Survey District, along the generally northern boundary of Section 1, Block I, Puketapu Survey District, to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block I aforesaid; thence along a right line across a public road to and along the north-western and northern boundaries of the last-mentioned Section 2, to and generally northerly along the western and northern boundaries of part Rangitoto Tuhua No. 10 Block, along the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Hurakia Survey District, and a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced, across a public road to and along the southern and western boundaries of Section 5 and the western boundary of Section 2, the last-mentioned sections being of Block X, Hurakia Survey District, crossing an intervening public road, and along a right line, being the last-mentioned western boundary produced, to the middle of the Ongarue River, the point of commencement.

The Tahora Cemetery Order 1961

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Cemeteries Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

(1) This order may be cited as the Tahora Cemetery Order 1961.
(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of June 1961. -
The Stratford County Council is hereby appointed to be the trustee of the Tahora Cemetery, being the area described in the Schedule hereto, and shall have the control and management of that cemetery under and for the purposes of the Cemeteries Act 1908.

(1) The delegation to the Whangamomona County Council of the powers of appointing and removing trustees of the said cemetery made by Order in Council dated the 27th day of April 1934* is hereby revoked.
(2) The said Order in Council is hereby accordingly amended by omitting from the Schedule the words “Whangamomona County Council... Tahora”.
SCHEDULE
TAHORA CEMETERY
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, Stratford County, containing 3 acres 0·5 perches, more or less, being Section 64, Tahora Suburban, situated in Block VI, Pouatu Survey District; as shown on the plan marked 191/2/645 deposited in the office of the Department of Health at Wellington and thereon edged red.

Consenting to Land Being Taken for Street in the City of Napier

Authorising the Minister of Works to Construct and Maintain Water Supply Works in the Valetta Extension Water Supply District

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS section 274 of the Public Works Act 1928 provides that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, authorise the Minister of Works to construct, maintain, or control any water race or water-supply works, either within or outside a mining district, which are proposed to be constructed or which have been constructed out of funds provided by Parliament: Now, therefore, pursuant to the said section, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Minister of Works to construct, maintain, and control the water-supply works described in the First Schedule hereto, and also hereby declares that the district to be served by such water-supply works (herein referred to as the Valetta Extension Water Supply District) shall be that defined in the Second Schedule hereto.
