WAITEMATA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Reticulation Extension and Reinforcement Loan (1960)
£500,000, Portion £250,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and amendments and regulations made thereunder respectively, and all other powers it enabling, the Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing half-yearly instalments of interest and yearly instalments of principal and other charges on a loan of £250,000 authorised to be raised by the Waitemata Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned enactments in order to provide additional moneys for the purpose of extending and reinforcing the supply of electricity within the whole of the Waitemata Electric Power District, the Waitemata Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⁴⁶/₁₀₀₀₀ of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the capital value) of all the rateable property within the whole of the Waitemata Electric Power District, as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in the Gazette dated 18 October 1923, and amended by Proclamations appearing in the Gazettes dated 27 November 1924, 26 August 1926, 7 March 1929, 24 January 1935, and 14 April 1954; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 10 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was carried at a meeting of the Waitemata Electric Power Board held on the 22nd day of May 1961.

WAIUKU BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Fire Station Loan (No. 2) 1961, £4,500

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waiuku Borough Council resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of four thousand five hundred pounds authorised to be raised by the Waiuku Borough Council under the above-named Act for the purpose of completing the building of a fire station, the said Waiuku Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought one six pence (·016d.) in the one pound (£1) upon the rateable value of all the rateable property (based on the capital value) of the Borough of Waiuku; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable on the 15th day of November and the 15th day of May in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years.”

TAIHAPE BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Taihape Borough Council resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £16,000 authorised to be raised by the Taihape Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the replacement of the Kaka Road Bridge and the reconstruction of Kaka Road, the said Taihape Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal eight nine four pence (·894d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) in the Borough of Taihape; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

HAWKE’S BAY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of twenty-five thousand pounds (£25,000) authorised to be raised by the Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of repaying on its maturity part of the £150,000 Reticulation Loan 1956, the said the Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board hereby makes a special rate of one two-hundredths of a penny (¹/₂₀₀d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the constituent districts of the County of Hawke’s Bay, the Boroughs of Havelock North and Taradale, the City of Hastings, and within that portion of the City of Napier as at present constituted which on the 6th day of July 1925 was included in the County of Hawke’s Bay; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 10 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Storm-water Drainage Loan 1961, £10,000

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000) authorised to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving storm-water drainage facilities in High Street between Thornycroft Avenue and the northern intersection of Kings Crescent, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eighty-thousandths of a penny (0·080d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be incorporated and added to the consolidated special rate made pursuant to the provisions of section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and be payable yearly on or about the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at the meeting of the Lower Hutt City Council held on the 15th day of May 1961.

KIWITEA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Bridges Renewal Loan 1961, £30,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Kiwitea County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of thirty thousand pounds (£30,000) authorised to be raised by the Kiwitea County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of meeting the Council’s share of the cost of renewing 22 bridges in the county, the said Kiwitea County Council hereby makes a special rate of five hundred and twenty-nine thousandths of one penny (0·529d.) in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property of the whole of the County of Kiwitea; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Counties Act 1956.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waimairi County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to take for the purposes of housing the lands situated in Block X of the Christchurch Survey District described in the Schedule hereto: and notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the lands required to be taken is deposited at the public office of the said Council situated at the corner of Clyde and Jeffreys Roads, Christchurch, where it lies open for public inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected shall, if they have any objection to the taking of the said lands, set forth in writing such objection and send such writing, within 40 days from the date of first publication of this notice, addressed to the County Clerk of the Waimairi County Council at the said office of the said Council.
