Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work and Not
Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the
Schedule hereto to be deemed to have been Crown land sub-
ject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 16th day of March 1961.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 1 acre 2 roods 11·86 perches
situated in the City of Wanganui, Wellington R.D., and being
Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, and 16, D.P. 21942, being part
Section 227, Right Bank Wanganui River. Part certificate of
title, Volume 748, folio 67, Wellington Land Registry, and
being also all the land in Proclamation No. 488988.

to the Land Act 1948 as from the 14th day of July 1958,
subject to the rights of way created by K. 43144, Wellington
Land Registry.

Notice of Intention to Take Additional Land in Block IV,
Whangaparaoa Survey District, for a Maori School, Being
Land Adjoining the Present Site of the Raukokore School
and Required for an Extension Thereto
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the additional land
described in the Schedule hereto for a Maori school; and
notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so
required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Te Kaha
and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected
by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well
grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the
same in writing and send such writing, within 40 days from the
first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at
Wellington.

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 2 acres and 5·6 perches
situated in Block IV, Whangaparaoa Survey District, Gisborne
R.D., and being part Poito No. 1 Block; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 2601
(S.O. 5184) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at
Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Agreement for Grant of Right of Way in Favour of Northern
Automobiles Ltd., a Duly Incorporated Company Having
its Registered Office at Auckland, Over Land in the City
of Auckland Taken for Buildings of the General Govern-
ment, Assented to
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the 1st day of August
1958, and published in the Gazette, 7 August 1958, Vol. II,
page 1021, all that piece of land containing 16·2 perches,
being Lot 16, D.P. 21520, being part Section 31, City of
Auckland, was taken for buildings of the General Govern-
ment:
And whereas Northern Automobiles Ltd., a duly incorpor-
ated company having its registered office at Auckland, is
entitled to compensation in respect of its leasehold interest in
the said land:
And whereas the Minister of Works has agreed to grant to
the said Northern Automobiles Ltd. a right of way over the
land described in the Schedule hereto in part satisfaction of
the compensation aforesaid:
And whereas the said Northern Automobiles Ltd. has agreed
to accept such grant of right of way in part satisfaction of
the said compensation:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Works hereby gives notice,
pursuant to section 97 of the Public Works Act 1928, that he
assents to the agreement hereinbefore referred to.

ALL those pieces of land in the City of Auckland, Auckland
R.D., described as follows:

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the 13th day of July 1960,
and published in the Gazette, 11 August 1960, No. 49, page
1155, all that piece of land containing 1·8 perches, being part
Lot 21, D.P. 21520, being part Section 31, City of Auckland,
was taken for buildings of the General Government:
And whereas The Kaiapoi Woollen Manufacturing Co.
Ltd., a duly incorporated company having its registered
office at Christchurch, is entitled to compensation in respect
of its leasehold interest in the said land:
And whereas the Minister of Works has agreed to grant to
The Kaiapoi Woollen Manufacturing Co. Ltd. a right of way
over the land described in the Schedule hereto in part
satisfaction of the compensation aforesaid:
And whereas The Kaiapoi Woollen Manufacturing Co. Ltd.

Scheme of Control of Thames High School
PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the
Minister of Education hereby revokes the approval of the
scheme for the control of Thames High School published in
the Gazette on 15 July 1915, Volume II, page 2448; and
approves of Thames High School being controlled in accord-
ance with the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary
Schools published in the Gazette on 6 December 1928, Volume
III, page 3451:
Provided that:
(a) Clause 7 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the
words “Council of the nearest borough within 5
miles of the school” were omitted, and the words
“Thames Borough Council” were substituted therefor:
(b) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if clause 9 were
revoked:
