Present:

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 5 of the Historic Places Act 1954, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby appoints the under-mentioned persons to be members of the National Historic Places Trust for a term of three years on and from the 1st day of April 1961, these persons having retired from office in accordance with section 6 of that Act:

To be Chairman of the Trust:

George Hamish Ormond Wilson, M.A., of Bulls.

To Represent the Maori Race:

John te Herekiekie Grace, M.V.O., J.P., of Wellington.

Nominated by the Senate of the University of New Zealand:

John Cawte Beaglehole, C.M.G., M.A., PH.D., of Wellington.

Conferring the Powers of a Tribal Executive Upon a Tribal Committee

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Maori Purposes Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby confers upon the Ruahine Tribal Committee all the powers conferred upon a tribal executive by the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, including the power to make bylaws, notwithstanding the provisions of section 19 or section 20 of that Act.

PURSUANT to section 131 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Order in Council dated 9 February 1938 and published in Gazette, 10 February 1938, Volume I, page 232, and deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under No. 9576, exempting the south-eastern side of Day Street in the City of Auckland from the provisions of section 128 of the Public Works Act 1928, subject to a condition as to the building line, by cancelling the building line imposed by the said Order in Council in so far as it affects Lot 1, D.P. 27933, being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 1114, folio 245, Auckland Land Registry.

ALL that piece of street containing 38 perches adjoining Lots 1 to 18 inclusive, D.P. 9657, being part Sections 14 to 16, Block V, Andersons Bay Survey District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 2443 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
