Pursuant to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as road the land described in the Schedule hereto.

ALL that piece of land containing 37·9 perches, situated in Block XV, Maungakawa Survey District, Auckland R.D., being part Kiwitahi 3B Block on D.P. 4138; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 2539 (S.O. 34714) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Allocating Railway Land to the Purposes of a Road in Blocks XIII and XIV, Selwyn Survey District

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto (and which was reserved for railway purposes in Gazette, 1897, Volume I, at page 16) shall, upon publication hereof in the Gazette, become road, and that such road shall be maintained by the National Roads Board in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Board.

Pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

1. The areas described in the Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the County of Southland and included in the City of Invercargill.
2. The alteration of the boundaries of the said county and the said city hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

SCHEDULE
AREAS EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF SOUTHLAND AND INCLUDED IN CITY OF INVERCARGILL
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, Southland County, containing by estimation 1,170 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of part Section 33, Block XV, Invercargill Hundred, and proceeding northerly along the eastern boundaries of the said part Section 33, Lot 1, D.P. 4400, across Bay Road, and along the eastern boundaries of Sections 5 and 26, Block XV, Invercargill Hundred, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Renfrew Street; thence easterly along the middle of Renfrew Street to a point in line with the middle of a public road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections 91, 78, 65, and 52, Block XV, Invercargill Hundred, and forming the eastern boundaries of Lots 5 and 10, Block A.D.P. 53; thence northerly along the middle of the said public road to the middle of West Plains Road; thence easterly along the middle of West Plains Road to a point in line with the westernmost boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 2323; thence northerly along a right line to the southernmost point of the westernmost boundary of the said Lot 5; thence easterly along part of the southern boundary of the said Lot 5 for a distance of 100 links, being also the intersection of that boundary with a railway reserve; thence northerly along a right line, being the production of part of the western boundary of the said Lot 5, to a point in line with the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4517; thence easterly to and along the northern boundary of the said Lot 1 and the production of that boundary to the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 3659; thence northerly along that boundary to the southern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 2323; thence easterly along that boundary and its production to the eastern side of No. 6 State Highway; thence southerly along the eastern side of that highway to the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 3739; thence easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of that lot and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the northern boundary of part Lot 26, D.P. 5; thence easterly along that boundary to the western boundary of part Section 15, Block IV, Invercargill Hundred; thence southerly along the western boundaries of the said part Section 15, Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 431, and part Section 15 aforesaid to a line parallel to, and distant 250 links northward of the northern side of Bainfield Road, measured at right angles; thence easterly along that line to a point in line with the eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, D.P. 4855, being also the production of a line parallel to, and distant 250 links eastward of the eastern side of Elles Road North; thence southerly along that line to the north-eastern boundary of part Section 10, Block IV, Invercargill Hundred; thence south-easterly along that boundary to the western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 1764; thence southerly along the western boundary of that lot and its production to the left bank of the Waihopai River; thence south-westerly down the left bank of that river to its intersection with the western side of the Kingston Branch Railway; thence northerly along that boundary to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of part Section 117, Block XV, Invercargill Hundred; thence south-westerly to and along the south-eastern boundary of the said part Section 117 to the point of commencement.
Also all that area in the Southland Land District, Southland County, containing by estimation 300 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Section 13, Block XIX, Invercargill Hundred, and proceeding northerly generally along the eastern boundary of part Section 10, Block III, Invercargill Hundred, to a point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 2, Block IV, D.P. 59; thence easterly to and along that boundary to the north-eastern side of No. 1 State Highway; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern side of that highway to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 21, Block XIX, Invercargill Hundred; thence south-westerly to and along the north-western boundary of that section, across a public road and along the north-western boundary of Section 13, Block XIX, Invercargill Hundred, to the point of commencement.
