At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 20th day of February 1961
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

On and from the 1st day of April 1961, the areas described in the Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the County of Makara and included in the Borough of Tawa.

The alteration of the boundaries of the said county and the said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

SCHEDULE
AREAS EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF MAKARA AND INCLUDED IN BOROUGH OF TAWA
FIRSTLY: All that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Makara, containing 149 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Section 38, Porirua District, the said corner being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Tawa as described in Gazette, 1958, page 1042; thence southerly generally along the western and southern boundaries of Section 36 to the north-western corner of Section 34, Porirua District, and along the western boundary of part Section 34 aforesaid, as contained in certificate of title, Volume 821, folio 90, to the south-western corner of that part; thence easterly generally along the southern boundary of that part of Section 34 aforesaid and Lots 1 and 5, D.P. 16632, the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 5, to and along the south-eastern side of State Highway No. 1 and the production of that side across the said highway and along its north-eastern side to the southern corner of Lot 1, D.P. 20867; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 20867, to the north-eastern corner of the said Lot 2, being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Tawa aforesaid; thence westerly generally along that boundary to the point of commencement.
Secondly: All that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Makara, containing 2 acres and 30 perches, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of Lot 10, Block II, D.P. 13989, the said point being on the boundary of the Borough of Tawa as described in Gazette, 1958, page 1042; thence along right lines bearing 170° distance 165 links; bearing 187° distance 500 links; bearing 184° distance 220 links, and a right line to a road angle on the eastern side of Carlton Road opposite Lot 22, D.P. 1975; thence along right lines bearing 178° 40′ 10″ distance 299·52 links; bearing 191° 26′ 30″ distance 165·52 links, as more particularly shown on S.O. 22857, to a point on the western side of Carlton Road, being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Tawa aforesaid; thence northerly, easterly, and again northerly generally along that borough boundary to the point of commencement.
Thirdly: All that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Makara, containing 4 acres 1 rood, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Lot 233, D.P. 10265, the said point being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Tawa as described in Gazette, 1958, page 1042; thence along right lines bearing 279° 32′ 20″ distance 225·76 links; bearing 339° 50′ distance 975·76 links; 88° 39′ 20″ distance 621·77 links, and a right line bearing 22° 05′ to its intersection with the boundary of the borough of Tawa aforesaid, the said boundaries being more particularly shown on S.O. 23794; thence southerly along the borough boundary to the point of commencement.
Fourthly: All that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Makara, containing 1 rood 37·14 perches, more or less, being part Lot 1, D.P. 7001, and being also part Section 56, Porirua District, situated in Block II, Belmont Survey District.
Fifthly: All that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Makara, containing 12 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of the land as shown on D.P. 11743, the said corner being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Tawa as described in Gazette, 1958, page 1042; thence along right lines bearing 170° 07′ 20″ distance 200 links; bearing 243° distance 700 links; bearing 263° distance 600 links; bearing 315° distance 1000 links; along a right line to a point on the northern boundary of Section 48, Porirua District, being 1800 links from the western boundary of the land as shown on D.P. 11743, the said point being on the boundary of the Borough of Tawa, aforesaid; thence easterly and southerly along the borough boundary to the point of commencement.
Sixthly: All that area in the Wellington Land District, County of Makara, containing 3 acres, more or less, being Lot 1, D.P. 22169, and being part Section 46, Porirua District, situated in Block VII, Belmont Survey District.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District containing 480 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of part Lot 47, Deposited Plan 3416, in Block II, Sumner Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch, and proceeding generally southerly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of that part lot to the north-eastern side of Mount Pleasant Road; thence along a right line across that road to the north-eastern corner of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 7429; thence north-westerly generally along the generally south-western side of Mount Pleasant Road to the south-eastern corner of Lot 3, Deposited Plan 19628; thence westerly along the southern boundary of that lot to its intersection with the south-eastern side of Major Hornbrooks Road; thence south-westerly along that roadside 105·35 links to a point in line with the south-western side of Major Hornbrooks Road; thence north-westerly to and along that roadside to the easternmost corner of Lot 24, Deposited Plan 19704; thence north-westerly generally along the south-eastern boundary of that lot, the south-western boundaries of Lots 24 to 2, inclusive, Deposited Plan 19704, and the western and north-western boundaries of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 19704, to the south-western side of Major Hornbrooks Road; thence north-westerly along that roadside to the south-eastern corner of Lot 6, Deposited Plan 17501; thence westerly along the southern boundary of that lot and north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Lots 6 to 1, inclusive, Deposited Plan 17501, to the north-eastern corner of Lot 12, Deposited Plan 14137; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Lots 12 and 1, Deposited Plan 14137, to the eastern side of Bridle Path Road; thence northerly generally along the eastern side of that road and of Ferrymead Terrace to the south-western corner of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 8729; thence south-easterly generally along the boundary of the City of Christchurch aforesaid to the point of commencement.

Tokomairiro River District Abolished

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

On and from the 1st day of April 1961, the Tokomairiro River District is hereby abolished and the Tokomairiro River Board is hereby dissolved.

On and from the date aforesaid, the property, debts, liabilities, and engagements of the Tokomairiro River Board shall vest in and become the property, debts, liabilities, and engagements of the Otago Catchment Board.

Subject as otherwise provided herein the abolition of the Tokomairiro River District hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941 and the River Boards Act 1908.
