THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER
-
On and from the 1st day of April 1961, the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Wanganui and included in the City of Wanganui.

The alteration of the boundaries of the said county and the said city hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, in the Wanganui County, situated in Block V, Ikitara Survey District, being part Te Iwiroa Block, containing 1 acre and 2·5 perches, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary of the City of Wanganui, as described in Gazette 1959, page 465, being a point on the south-eastern boundary of Lot 82, D.P. 5465, 288·0 links from its easternmost corner; thence north-easterly and easterly generally along the said boundary of the City of Wanganui to the southernmost corner of Lot 29, D.P. 2605, the said corner being also a point on the said boundary of the City of Wanganui; thence south-westerly along a right line distance 230·0 links bearing 221° 35″ and north-westerly along a right line distance 470·8 links bearing 294° 01″ to the point of commencement.

Authorising the Laying Off of a Street off Kenmure Road in the City of Dunedin

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 20th day of February 1961
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 186 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and section 125 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Dunedin City Council to permit the laying off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto at a width for the whole of its length of less than 66 ft, but not less than 47 ft 6 in.

THAT proposed street in the City of Dunedin containing 27 perches, more or less, being part D.P. 972, being part Section 49, Block VI, Town District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 2082 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

PURSUANT to section 149 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the Kowai County Council stopping the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of road containing 3 acres 3 roods 5 perches situated in Blocks VI and VII, Grey Survey District, Canterbury R.D., adjoining or passing through Rural Sections 20412, 29006, 27185, and 32206; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 1948 (S.O. 9467) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

PURSUANT to the Exhibitions Act 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER
-
This order may be cited as the Hawke’s Bay International Motor Show Order 1961.
-
In this order, unless the context otherwise requires,—
“The Act” means the Exhibitions Act 1910:
“The Promoter” means the Napier Development Association (Incorporated) and the Automobile Association (Hawke’s Bay) Incorporated:
“The exhibition” means a public exhibition of motor vehicles, to be conducted by the promoter at Centennial Hall, McLean Park, Napier, from the 3rd day of March to the 11th day of March (both inclusive) and to be known as the Hawke’s Bay International Motor Show 1961.

The exhibition is hereby authorised, and declared to be an exhibition within the meaning of the Act.

Subject to the conditions set out in the Schedule hereto, the following provisions are hereby suspended in so far as they relate to work done or business conducted or services rendered in the said premises during the period of the exhibition, by or on behalf of the promoter, or by or on behalf of any exhibitor at the exhibition, or by any person employed in or about the exhibition, namely—such of the provisions of—
(a) The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954, and all awards and industrial agreements in force thereunder;
(b) The Shops and Offices Act 1955; and
(c) The Factories Act 1946,—
as relate to the hours of commencing or ceasing work, or to the issue of permits, or to the payment, for overtime or extended hours, or to holidays and half-holidays, or to the closing of shops.

SCHEDULE

Eight hours shall constitute a day’s work in or about the exhibition, and, with the exception set out in clause 2 hereof, the hours shall be worked consecutively.

No person shall be employed in or about the exhibition for more than four hours without an interval of at least three-quarters of an hour for a meal.

Any person employed during any day in or about the exhibition who is employed on that day for more than eight hours, or before the hour of 8 a.m., or after the hour of 10.30 p.m. (whether the excess employment is in or about the exhibition or otherwise) shall be paid for the excess employment at not less than half as much again as the ordinary rate for the first two hours and at not less than twice the ordinary rate thereafter, and any person employed in or about the exhibition on any day that would, but for the provisions of this order, have been a whole holiday for that person by virtue of any Act or of any award or industrial agreement shall be paid for all work done on that day at not less than twice the ordinary rate, whether the work is performed wholly in or about the exhibition or otherwise.

No male under 18 years of age and no female shall be employed in or about the exhibition after the hour of 10.30 p.m.

For the purposes of the enforcement of an award or industrial agreement any provision of which has been suspended by this order, any officer of the industrial union or association concerned who is authorised in writing in that behalf by the union or association shall be entitled to interview at his place of employment any person employed in or about the exhibition under that award or industrial agreement at such time or times as may be agreed upon between the officer and the employer of that person, and for this purpose any such officer shall be entitled at any time to have access to the Register of Passes issued by the promoter.

Nothing in this order shall be deemed to affect any provisions in an award or industrial agreement requiring workers subject to the award or industrial agreement to be members of a union.
