Directing the Revision of District Valuation Rolls

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 30th day of November 1960
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Valuation of Land Act 1951, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs that the district valuation rolls for the districts enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be revised by the Valuer-General as at 1 December 1960.

Boroughs: Dannevirke, Eastbourne, Greymouth, Hawera, Howick, Inglewood, Levin, Masterton, New Lynn, Ohakune, One Tree Hill, Papatoetoe, Raetihi Richmond, Te Kuiti, Waihi, Waimate, Waipawa, Wairoa, Westport, Winton, Woodville.
Cities: Auckland, Lower Hutt.
Counties: Amuri, Awatere, Buller, Egmont, Featherston, Halswell, Hauraki Plains, Hawke’s Bay, Heathcote, Inglewood, Raglan, Springs, Stewart Island, Tawera, Tuapeka, Waimairi, Wairoa, Waitotara, Wanganui, Whangarei.

PURSUANT to the discretion conferred upon him by subsection (2) of section 9, Valuation of Land Act 1951, the Valuer-General intends to exercise the authority conferred by the foregoing Order in Council so far as it relates to Auckland City by revising only those properties on the district valuation roll which lie within the Avondale, Epsom, Parnell, and Ponsonby portions and also, so far as it relates to Hawke’s Bay County, by revising only those properties on the district valuation roll which lie within the ridings of Heretaunga, Poukawa, Clive, Waimarama, and Havelock.

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

On and from the 1st day of April 1961 the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Stratford and included in the County of Taumarunui.

The alteration of the boundaries of the said counties hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act 1956.

SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District containing 12,625 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing in the middle of the Wanganui River at a point in line with the northern boundary of Maraekowhai A 3B 2 Block, being a point on the boundary of the Stratford County as described in Gazette of 9 February 1956 at page 158; thence westerly to and along the northern boundary of the said Maraekowhai A 3B 2 Block to and southerly along the western boundary of that block and the western boundary of Maraekowhai A 3B 1 Block to the northern boundary of Section 5, Block X, Heao Survey District; thence westerly generally along the northern boundary of that section and the northern boundary of Section 2, Block IX, Heao Survey District, and its production across Heao Road to the middle of the Heao Stream; thence northerly generally up the middle of that stream to the 39th parallel of south latitude; thence easterly along that parallel to the middle of the Ohura River; thence southerly generally down the middle of the Ohura and Wanganui Rivers to the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

Validating Proceedings in Connection with the Shannon Borough Council’s Loan of £1,450

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 30th day of November 1960
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Shannon Borough Council is proceeding by way of special order to raise a loan of £1,450, to be known as the “Pensioners’ Flats Additional Loan 1960”; and whereas the special order made by the said Council to raise the said loan was irregular or defective in that there was an interval of less than 14 days between the two notifications required by paragraph (c) of section 77 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954; and whereas it appears that the ratepayers of the district have not been misled by such irregularity or defect as aforesaid and it is expedient to validate the same: now, therefore, pursuant to section 130 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the proceedings in connection with the raising of the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though an interval of not less than 14 days had elapsed between the said two notifications; and hereby further orders and declares that the validity of the proceedings in connection with the raising of the said loan or of the security for the said loan shall not be questioned on the ground of the irregularity or defect aforesaid.

Registration of Dogs on Kawau Island

COBHAM, Governor-General
PURSUANT to the Dogs Registration Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby appoints and directs as follows:
(a) The offices of the Rodney County Council at Warkworth are hereby appointed as the registration office for the registration of dogs ordinarily kept on Kawau Island:
(b) The County Clerk of the Rodney County Council is hereby appointed as the Registrar for that registration office:
(c) The fees to be paid for the registration of such dogs for the year commencing on the 1st day of January 1961 and for every subsequent year are hereby fixed as follows:
(i) For each male dog registered as a working dog, six shillings:
(ii) For every other dog, one pound.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 1st day of December 1960.
