At the Government House at Wellington this 26th day of
October 1960
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Glencoe Rabbit
    District Order 1960.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the
    date of its notification in the Gazette.
  2. The boundaries of the Glencoe Rabbit District, which
    was constituted by Order in Council on the 3rd day of
    October 1947,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as
    from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the
    said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE GLENCOE RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the County of Southland, Southland Land
District, containing an estimated area of 105,500 acres, more
or less, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, bounded by
a line commencing at the confluence of the Hedgehope Stream
and the Makarewa River, and proceeding in a north-easterly
direction generally along the left bank of the Makarewa
River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Sec-
tion 193, Block V, Forest Hill Hundred; thence easterly
generally across a road reserve and along the southern boun-
daries of Sections 193 and 194, Block V, Forest Hill Hundred,
to the northernmost corner of Section 323, Block V aforesaid;
thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-
western and south-western boundaries of the said Section 323
to the north-western side of a public road forming the south-
eastern boundaries of Section 323 aforesaid; thence north-
easterly along the said public road to the south-western corner
of Block IX, Forest Hill Hundred, thence easterly and
northerly generally along the southern and eastern boundaries
of Block IX aforesaid to the southern boundary of Section
133, Block X, Forest Hill Hundred; thence easterly along
the southern boundary of Section 133, Block X aforesaid,
to the south-eastern corner thereof; thence northerly along
the eastern boundary of Section 133, Block X aforesaid, and
that boundary produced to the northern boundary of Block
X aforesaid; thence westerly along the northern boundary
of Block X aforesaid to the eastern boundary of Section
430B, Block X aforesaid; thence northerly along the eastern
boundaries of Section 430B, Block X aforesaid, Sections 429,
428, 427, 426, and 425, Block XI, Forest Hill Hundred, to
a point in line with the southern boundary of Block I, Wai-
mumu Hundred; thence easterly by a right line to and along
the southern boundary of Block I aforesaid to the south-
eastern corner thereof; thence south-easterly and north-
easterly generally along the southern boundary of Block VI,
Waimumu Hundred, to the south-eastern corner of Section
64, Block VI aforesaid; thence north-westerly along the eastern
boundary of Section 64, Block VI aforesaid, to the southern
side of Perry Road; thence easterly, southerly, and south-
westerly along the southern side of Perry Road, the southern
side of Bushy Park Road, and the western side of the Glendu-
Mataura road to the southern side of the Gore - Te Tipua
road; thence northerly and easterly generally along the south-
ern side of the said road to the eastern boundary of Lot 1,
D.P. 1503; thence southerly along that boundary to a line
parallel to and distant 250 links from the south side of
Charlton Road; thence easterly along that line to the south-
eastern boundary of Lot 10, Block I, D.P. 87; thence south-
westerly along that boundary to the north-eastern boundary
of Lot 3, D.P. 1257; thence south-easterly along that boundary
to the north-western side of the No. 1 State Highway; thence
north-easterly along that side to a line parallel to and distant
250 links from the south side of Salford Street; thence
easterly along that line to the left bank of the Mataura
River; thence southerly generally along that bank to a point
in line with the south-western boundary of Section 76, Block
XVII, Town of Mataura Bridge; thence south-easterly to
and along that boundary to the north-western side of the
Mataura-Clinton road; thence south-westerly along that side
to a point in line with the eastern boundary of the Town of
Mataura Bridge; thence southerly and westerly along the eastern
and southern boundaries of the Town of Mataura Bridge
and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the
right bank of the Mataura River; thence southerly generally
along that side to a point in line with the northern boundary
of Section 24E, Edendale Settlement; thence westerly to and
along that boundary and its production to the western side
of the No. 1 State Highway; thence southerly along that side
to the northern side of the Glencoe-Brydone road; thence
westerly generally along that side, the north-western side
of Te Tipua Valley Road and the southern boundary of Sec-
tion 57, Block V, Lindhurst Hundred, and the production
of the last-mentioned boundary to the eastern boundary of
Section 56, Block V aforesaid; thence northerly along that
boundary to the left bank of the Titipua Stream, thence
westerly generally along that bank and the left bank of the
Hedgehope Stream to the point of commencement.

Declaring the East Road-Makarewa Rabbit District, the
Waimatua Rabbit District, and the Woodlands Rabbit
District to be United to Form the Awarua Rabbit District
(Notice No. Ag. 7146)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 26th day of
October 1960
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, at the request of the Minister
of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit
Destruction Council, hereby declares the East Road-Makarewa
Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council
on the 17th day of September 1941,* the Waimatua Rabbit
District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the
3rd day of December 1941,† and the Woodlands Rabbit
District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the
18th day of August 1937,‑ to be united and to form one
district having the name of the Awarua Rabbit District,
the boundaries of which shall be those specified in the
Schedule hereto; and further declares that the basis on
which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said
district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage
of the land occupied by the ratepayer.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE AWARUA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the County of Southland, Southland Land
District, containing an estimated 302,500 acres, more or less,
inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, bounded by a
line commencing at the intersection of the eastern side of
the Kingston Branch Railway with the left bank of the
Makarewa River, Block XIII, Invercargill Hundred, and
proceeding easterly generally along the left bank of the
Makarewa River, the left bank of the Hedgehope Stream,
and the left bank of the Titipua Stream to the eastern
boundary of Section 56, Block V, Lindhurst Hundred;
thence southerly along that boundary to a point in line
with the southern boundary of Section 57, Block V aforesaid;
thence easterly generally along that boundary, the north-
western side of the Te Tipua Valley Road, and the northern
side of the Glencoe-Brydone road to the western side of
the No. 1 State Highway; thence northerly along that side
to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section
24E, Edendale Settlement; thence easterly to and along
that boundary and its production to the right bank of the
Mataura River; thence southerly generally along that bank
to its junction with the right bank of the old course at
Mataura Island; thence southerly generally along that bank
and the present right bank of the Mataura River to the sea
coast; thence westerly along the sea coast to the Bluff
