ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Otama Rabbit District Order 1960.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
- The boundaries of the Otama Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 25th day of January 1956,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE OTAMA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Southland Land District containing an estimated 196,000 acres, more or less, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, and bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Waikaia River (east branch) in line with the southern boundary of the former Run 436, now part Run 549, and proceeding south-westerly generally along the left bank of the Waikaia River to the right bank of Whitecomb Creek; thence easterly along the right bank of Whitecomb Creek to the western side of the Waikaia-Whitecomb road; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of the Waikaia-Whitecomb road to the right bank of Piano Flat Creek; thence northerly along the right bank of Piano Flat Creek to the left bank of the Waikaia River; thence south-westerly along the left bank of the Waikaia River to the right bank of Charcoal Creek; thence westerly along the right bank of Charcoal Creek to the western boundary of Run 548; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of Run 548 to the northern boundary of Section 17, Block VI, Waikaia Survey District; thence north-westerly along the northern boundaries of Sections 17 and 4, Block VI, across a public road to the left bank of the Waikaia River; thence south-westerly generally by the left bank of the Waikaia River to its junction with the Mataura River; thence due south by a right line across the Mataura River to the right bank thereof; thence by the right bank aforesaid to the confluence of the Waimea Stream with the Mataura River; thence south-easterly by a right line across the Mataura River to the left bank thereof; thence south-easterly generally by the left bank of the said river, including Section 1, Block I, Otama Survey District, to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Section 16, Block XI, Chatton Survey District; thence easterly and north-easterly to and along the southern and south-eastern boundaries of the aforesaid part Section 16 to the western side of the Gore-Waiparu via Pyramid Main Highway; thence northerly along the western side of the said main highway to the south-western side of Knapdale Road; thence south-easterly along that side of Knapdale Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 1, Block X, Chatton Survey District; thence easterly to and along that boundary and the southern boundary of Section 1A, Block X aforesaid, to the western boundary of Section 14, Block XII, Chatton Survey District; thence southerly along that boundary to the northern side of Gold Creek Road; thence easterly generally to and along the northern sides of Mathesons Road, a public road, and Morrisons Road to the western boundary of D.P. 1245; thence northerly and easterly to and along the western and northern boundaries of the said D.P. 1245 to the boundary of part Section 9, Block I, Chatton Survey District; thence northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of the aforesaid Section 9, crossing the Willowbank-Waikaka Main Highway to the western side of the Waikaka Branch Railway Reserve; thence northerly along the western side of the said railway reserve to a point where it crosses the Willowbank-Waikaka Main Highway near Pullar Railway Station; thence north-westerly generally along the south-west side of the said highway to its junction with the Chatton-Waikaka Main Highway; thence north-easterly generally along the north-western side of the Willowbank-Waikaka Main Highway to and along Lurgan Street, Town of Waikaka; thence easterly along Lurgan Street to and along the north-eastern side of the Waikaka-Kelso road to the western boundary of Glenkennich Survey District, being also the eastern boundary of the Southland County; thence northerly generally along that boundary to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Run 549, near Trig. D; thence northerly and westerly along the eastern boundary of Run 549 to and along the southern boundary of the former Run 436, now Run 549, to the point of commencement.

The Rotorua Acclimatisation District Extension Order 1960

At the Government House at Wellington this 21st day of September 1960
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Wildlife Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following Order.
ORDER
- (1) This Order may be cited as the Rotorua Acclimatisation District Extension Order 1960.
(2) This Order shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1960.

The Gisborne-East Coast Acclimatisation District, as described in Gazette, 30 June 1955, No. 42, page 1035, is hereby abolished, and the whole of that district is henceforth included in the Rotorua Acclimatisation District.

The registration of the Gisborne-East Coast Acclimatisation Society is hereby cancelled, and all fines, fees, and other moneys, whether payable pursuant to the Wildlife Act 1953 or the Fisheries Act 1908, or otherwise howsoever, with respect to the former Gisborne-East Coast Acclimatisation District, shall be payable to the Department of Internal Affairs, and all levies, charges, or other moneys, due and payable by the Gisborne-East Coast Acclimatisation Society shall be payable by the Department of Internal Affairs.

The funds of the Gisborne-East Coast Acclimatisation Society accumulated up to the time of the coming into force of this order shall be disposed of in the manner set out in the agreement, dated the 1st day of September 1960, made between the Secretary for Internal Affairs and the Council of the Gisborne-East Coast Acclimatisation Society.

All matters and proceedings that have been commenced by the Gisborne-East Coast Acclimatisation Society and are pending or in progress at the commencement of this order may be continued, completed, and enforced by the Department of Internal Affairs.

The boundaries of the Rotorua Acclimatisation District, as described in Gazette, 29 September 1949, No. 57, page 2384, are hereby revoked and shall henceforth be as described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the South Auckland, Gisborne, and Hawke’s Bay Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at the middle of the mouth of the Mohaka River and proceeding up the middle of that river to a point in line with Trig. Stations 68A and 65A in Kaweka Survey District; thence southerly along a right line to the said Trig. Station 65A; thence westerly along right lines in succession to and from Trig. Stations Tauwheke te Whango in Block XII, Mangamaiare Survey District, Motumatai in Block XV, Mangamaiare Survey District, Manukaiapu in Block XV, Kaimanawa Survey District, and Ruapehu in Block XI, Ruapehu Survey District; thence northerly along a right line to Paretetaitonga Trig. Station, and along a right line to Ngaruhoe Trig. Station; thence northerly along a right line to Tongariro Trig. Station; thence northerly along a right line in the direction of the mouth of the Waihi Stream to the middle of the Wanganui River; thence north-westerly down the middle of that river to a point in line with the western boundary of Waione Block in Blocks X and XIV, Maungaku Survey District; thence northerly to and along that boundary to Maungaku Trig. Station; thence northerly along the summit of the Hauhungaroa Range passing over Hauhungaroa, Motere, Tuhingamata, and Weraroa Trig. Stations, to Pureora Trig. Station in Block III, Hurakia Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to Pukeroa Trig. Station in Block XIV, Ranginui Survey District; thence north-easterly along the watershed between the Waiteti Stream and the Mangakino Stream to Taupaki Trig. Station in Block I, Whakamaru Survey District; thence easterly along a right line to Maraetai Dam on the Waikato River; thence north-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 1002 in Block XV, Patetere South Survey District; thence due east to a right line between Pureora Trig. Station aforesaid and Puwhenua Trig. Station in Block III, Tapapa East Survey District; thence north-easterly along that right line to Puwhenua Trig. Station; thence north-westerly along a right line in the direction of Te Weraiti Trig. Station in Block IV, Opoutihi Survey District, to a point due west of Otanewainuku Trig. Station in Block XVI, Otanewainuku Survey District; thence due east through Otanewainuku Trig. Station to a point due south of Trig. Station JI in Block IV, Waihi South Survey District; thence due north through Trig. Station JI to the high-water mark of the sea; thence easterly and southerly along the high-water mark to the point of commencement. Together with White and Whale Islands and Rurima Rocks.
