HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Silver Peaks Rabbit District Order 1960.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
- The boundaries of the Silver Peaks Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 25th day of January 1956,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE SILVER PEAKS RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Taieri and Waikouaiti Counties containing 82,683 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Taieri River in line with the southern boundary of Section 2, Block VII, Nenthorn Survey District, and proceeding easterly to and along the southern boundary of that Section 2 and Section 3, Block VII aforesaid, to the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block VIII, Silver Peaks Survey District; thence generally north-easterly along the north-western boundary of that Section 1 and that boundary produced to the middle of the Three O’Clock Stream and thence along the middle of that stream to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 3, Block VIII, Silver Peaks Survey District; thence generally northerly to and along the eastern boundaries of Section 3 aforesaid and Section 1, Block IX, Hummock Survey District to the southernmost corner of Section 7, Block IX, Silver Peaks Survey District; thence generally north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Section 7 aforesaid, Run 171B, Run 171A, and Section 19, Block VI, Waikouaiti Survey District and the production of the southern boundary of Section 19 to the eastern side of Toomey Road; thence generally northerly along the eastern side of Toomey Road to the northern boundary of Block VI, Waikouaiti Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Blocks VI and V, Waikouaiti Survey District to the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block IV, Hummockside Survey District; thence north-westerly, north-easterly, and south-easterly along the south-western, north-western, and north-eastern boundaries of Section 1 aforesaid, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Waikouaiti River (North Branch); thence generally south-easterly along the middle of that river to the middle of the Waikouaiti River (South Branch); thence generally south-westerly along the middle of that river to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 4, Block IX, Waikouaiti Survey District; thence easterly to and along that northern boundary of that Section 4 to the eastern boundary of Block IX aforesaid; thence generally south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of Block II, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 28, Block III, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence south-westerly to and along the north-western boundaries of that Section 28 and Sections 27, 26, 24, and 15 and Lots A, B, and C, D.P. 1299, Block III aforesaid, to Trig. “S”, Swampy Spur; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District and the production of that boundary to the middle of the Leith Valley Road; thence generally southerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 40, Block VIII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence generally north-westerly to and along the south-western boundary of that Section 40 to the southernmost corner of the land on D.P. 538; thence generally northerly along the western boundary of the land on D.P. 538 to the northernmost corner of Section 80, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence generally south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of that Section 80 to the north-western boundary of Section 63, Block V aforesaid; thence south-easterly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of that Section 63 to the westernmost corner of Section 65, Block V aforesaid; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that Section 65 and the production of that south-western boundary to the middle of the Leith Valley Road; thence generally south-westerly along the middle of the Leith Valley Road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 67, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along the south-western boundary of that Section 67 and the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 4903, to the northernmost corner of that Lot 2; thence generally south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of that Lot 2, D.P. 4903 and the south-western boundary of Section 70, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District and the production of that south-western boundary of that Section 70 to the middle of the Leith Valley Road; thence generally south-westerly along the middle of the Leith Valley Road to a right line between the westernmost corner of Section 4, Block VIII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District and the northernmost corner of Section 83, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence north-westerly along that right line to the northernmost corner of that Section 83; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Sections 83 and 82, Block V aforesaid, and south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 5108 and the production of the south-western boundary of that Lot 2 south-easterly to and thence south-westerly along the right bank of the Water of Leith to a point due east of the southernmost corner of Section 73, Block V aforesaid; thence due west to, and north-westerly along, the south-western boundary of that Section 73 to a road and generally north-westerly along the south-western side of that road to the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 7092; thence south-westerly along that south-eastern boundary of that Lot 1 to the north-eastern boundary of Section 45, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence north-westerly along that north-eastern boundary of Section 45 and the north-eastern boundary of Section 53, Block V aforesaid to the southernmost corner of Section 54, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 54 and 55, Block V aforesaid and the production of that eastern boundary of that Section 55 to the south-western boundary of Section 9, Block V; thence south-easterly and north-easterly along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of that Section 9 and along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 10 and 11, Block V aforesaid to a road; thence generally northerly along a right line to the southernmost corner of Section 3, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District and along the eastern boundary of that Section 3 to Trig. “S”, Swampy Spur; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District to the north-western corner of Section 9, Block III, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence generally south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Sections 9, 8, 7, and 6, Block III aforesaid, to the westernmost corner of that Section 6; thence generally westerly along a right line to and thence along the southern side of the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections 38, Block II, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, Sections 1136R, 1 of 28, 2 of 28, 27, and 26, Block II aforesaid to the north-western corner of that Section 26; along a right line to the easternmost corner of Lot 5, D.P. 2495, and along the northern boundary of that Lot 5 to the eastern side of the North Taieri - Taioma road; thence due west along a right line to the north-eastern boundary of Section 21, Block I, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence generally north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of that Section 21 and Sections 20, 2 of 18, and 17, Block I aforesaid and the production of that north-eastern boundary of that Section 17 to the middle of the Taieri River; thence generally northerly along the middle of the Taieri River to the point of commencement.
