NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for State housing purposes; and notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing and send the writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Notice of Intention to Take Entirety of Land in Green Island West Survey District for a Post Office

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the entirety of land described in the Schedule hereto for a post office; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the entirety of land required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Fairfield and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said entirety of land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of such entirety of land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing 28·9 perches situated in Green Island West Survey District, being Lot 4, Block IV, Township of Loudon, D.P. 706, and being also part Section 37; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 869 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Scheme of Control of Te Atatu Post-primary School

PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of Te Atatu Post-primary School being controlled in accordance with the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools published in the Gazette of 6 December 1928, Volume III, page 3451;

Provided that:

(a) Clause 7 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Council of the nearest borough within five miles of the school” were omitted, and the words “Waitemata County Council” were substituted therefor:

(b) Clause 8 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the word “Town” were omitted:

(c) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if clause 9 were revoked:

(d) Clause 11 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Such election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1929” were omitted, and the words “The first such election shall be held not later than the first week in the month of May in the year 1961, and such an election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1963” were substituted therefor:

(e) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if the clause numbered 13A, set out in the Schedule hereto, were inserted after clause 13:

(f) Clause 16 of the Standard Scheme shall read as if the word “Borough” were omitted:

(g) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if every reference to the year 1929 were a reference to the year 1963:

(h) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if clause 43 were revoked, and the clause numbered 43 set out in the Schedule hereto were substituted therefor.

SCHEDULE

CLAUSES TO BE READ AS PART OF THE STANDARD SCHEME

13A (1) In every case where any member is to be elected by the members of the school committees of the public schools to which paragraph (e) of clause 2 of the Te Atatu Post-primary School Board of Governors Order 1960 applies, every such member shall be so elected by postal ballot in a manner determined by the Auckland Education Board in the case of the first election, and by the Board of the school in the case of any subsequent election.

(2) The first such election shall be held on a date to be specified by the Auckland Education Board, and such an election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1963 and in every alternate year thereafter, or as soon thereafter as may be convenient on a date to be specified by the Board of Governors of the Te Atatu Post-primary School. For the purposes of the first such election the Secretary of the Auckland Education Board, or a deputy, appointed by him, shall be the returning officer and for all subsequent elections the Secretary of the Board of Governors shall be the returning officer.

  1. From time to time as may be necessary the Board shall appoint a Secretary, and shall appoint him or some other person with authority to receive money on the Board’s account. The Board shall forthwith inform the Minister of every such appointment. Where the Principal is appointed Secretary of the Board he shall not receive any additional remuneration in respect of that appointment.
