Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
Pursuant to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Time and Place of Election by Fire Insurance Companies to Fill Extraordinary Vacancies on the Fire Boards for the Balclutha, Dunedin, Kaitangata, and Milton Fire Districts
Pursuant to the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 noon on Thursday, 28 July 1960, as the time, and the offices of the Otago and Southland Fire and Accident Underwriters’ Association, corner of Jetty and Crawford Streets, Dunedin, as the place, for the holding of a meeting of representatives of the fire insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect one member on the Fire Boards for the Balclutha, Kaitangata, and Milton Fire Districts and two members on the Fire Board for the Dunedin Metropolitan Fire District.

Constitution of Northland Catchment District-Time and Place for Hearing Appeals
Pursuant to section 34 of the Local Government Commission Act 1953, it is hereby notified that the Local Government Appeal Authority has fixed 10 a.m. on Wednesday, 17 August 1960, as the time, and the Courthouse, Kaikohe, as the place for the hearing of the appeals which have been made by the Bay of Islands County Council, the Hokianga County Council, the Kaikohe Borough Council, the Mangonui County Council, the Otamatea County Council, the Raupo Drainage Board, and the Whangaroa County Council against the final reorganisation scheme of the Local Government Commission dated 20 January 1960, providing for the area described in the Schedule to that scheme to be constituted a Northland Catchment District.
This notice is in substitution for the notice dated the 25th day of March 1960 and published in Gazette, 31 March 1960, page 441, notifying the time and place fixed for hearing these appeals.

Pursuant to section 17 of the Archives Act 1957, notice is hereby given of intention to destroy the following public records:
Aliens Registration
Index cards referring to printed volume of Aliens in New Zealand in 1917.
Any person may, within one month after the date of publication of this notice, lodge with the Secretary for Internal Affairs, Wellington, an objection to the destruction of the records specified above, stating therein the grounds of his objection. Such objections will be dealt with in accordance with section 18 of the Archives Act 1957.

Notice of Intention to Destroy Public Records
Pursuant to section 17 of the Archives Act 1957, notice is hereby given of intention to destroy the following public records:
Electoral Office
(a) Internal Affairs Department files relating to electoral matters 1912–1932. These files include routine and miscellaneous documents relating to the holding of elections, accounts, requisitions, and staffing.
(b) Closed files of the Electoral Department. These files relate to appointments, supplies of equipment, and routine matters connected with Registrars of Electors, Returning Officers, and clerical assistants; to details of elections, supplies, payments, and staffing; selection of polling places; the compilation of electoral rolls and provision of ballot boxes. All important papers relating to those topics have been preserved.
Any person may, within one month after the date of publication of this notice, lodge with the Secretary for Internal Affairs, Wellington, an objection to the destruction of the records specified above, stating therein the grounds of his objection. Such objections will be dealt with in accordance with section 18 of the Archives Act 1957.
