AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and
amendments, the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and of all
other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council
hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges
on a loan of five hundred thousand pounds (£500,000), to be
known as the Phillips Street Redevelopment Loan 1959, of
£500,000, which amount is proposed to be raised by the Auckland
City Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the
purpose of carrying out redevelopment of Phillips Street area
in Freeman’s Bay, City of Auckland and the cost of raising
the loan, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of eight-ninths of a penny (8/9th of 1d.)
in the pound (£) upon the rateable property in the City of
Auckland comprising the whole of the City of Auckland; and
that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly
on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the
currency of the said loan or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Certified copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the
Auckland City Council held on the 2nd day of May 1960.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and
amendments, the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and of all
other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council
hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges
on a loan of forty-nine thousand five hundred pounds (£49,500),
to be known as the Memorial Hall Loan 1959 of £49,500,
which amount is proposed to be raised by the Auckland City
Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of
erecting a Memorial Hall, Creche, and Women’s Rest Room
in Freyberg Place and the cost of raising the loan, the said
Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of two-fifteenths of a penny (2/15th of 1d.) in the pound
(£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value)
of all rateable property in the City of Auckland comprising
the whole of the City of Auckland; and that the said special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June
in each and every year during the currency of the said loan or
until the loan is fully paid off.”

TE AWAMUTU ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, at a meeting of the Te
Awamutu Electric Power Board held on the 17th day of July
1951, the following resolution was passed:

“In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies Loans Act 1926, the Te
Awamutu Electric Power Board resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £75,000 authorised to be raised by the
Te Awamutu Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned
Act for the purpose of further reticulating the Te Awamutu
Electric Power District including the purchase of all necessary
material, plant, land, and rights over land, and the payment
of wages, and engineering, survey, legal, and other fees, the
said Te Awamutu Electric Power Board hereby makes and
levies a special rate of three-fourths (3/4) of a penny in the
pound upon the rateable (unimproved) value of all rateable
property in the Te Awamutu Electric Power District; and
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of
March in each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully
paid off.”

TAURANGA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE

Electrical Extension Loan 1960

THAT, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the
principal and interest and other charges in respect of the
Tauranga Electric Power Board Electrical Extension Loan
1960 of £80,000 authorised to be raised by the Tauranga
Electric Power Board, by special order under the Local
Authorities Loans Act 1956, for the purpose of providing
additional money for further reticulation of the Tauranga
Electric Power District, the Board hereby makes and levies
a special rate of one-fourth of a penny in the pound on the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all
rateable property in the Tauranga Electric Power District;
and that such special rate shall be payable annually on the 1st
day of July in each and every year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of 15 years, or until the loan is
fully paid off.

RICCARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and
in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its
amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and
Citizens of the Borough of Riccarton propose, under the
provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain
public work, namely, the erection of Council buildings and
provisions for lands necessary for the use, convenience, or
enjoyment of the same, and for the purpose of such public
work to take the land described in the Schedule hereto, such
land to vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the
Borough of Riccarton; and notice is hereby further given
that a plan of the land to be taken is deposited in the public
office of the Riccarton Borough Council, situated at 189
Clarence Street, Riccarton, and is there open for inspection
by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the taking of the said land described
in the Schedule hereto should, if they have any well grounded
objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in
writing and send such writing within forty (40) days of the
first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk of the
Riccarton Borough Council at the office of the said Council.

SCHEDULE

ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XI of the Christ-
church Survey District, containing thirty-nine and three-tenths
perches (39·3 perches), or thereabouts, being Lot 6 on Deposit
Plan 2650, part Rural Section 153A, and being all the land in
certificate of title, Volume 248, folio 174, Canterbury Land
Registry, being known as No. 197 Clarence Street, and shown as
shaded on a plan of the area deposited at the Council’s offices
at 189 Clarence Street.

SOUTHLAND COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD, BLOCK XVI,
OTERAMIKA HUNDRED

NOTICE is hereby given that the Southland County Council
proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928,
to carry out certain road works and that for that purpose the
piece of land described in the Schedule hereto is required to
be taken for road; and notice is hereby further given that the
plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the
office of the Southland County Council at Clyde Street, Inver-
cargill, and is there open for inspection, and that all persons
affected by the execution of such works or the taking of such
lands should if they have any well grounded objections to
the taking of such land set forth the same in writing, and
send such writing within forty days from the date of this
notice (being the date of the first publication thereof), to the
Southland County Council, Clyde Street, Invercargill.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land situated in the Oteramika Hundred,
containing 36·7 poles, more or less, being part Lot 2, Deposited
Plan 223, being part Section 4, Block XVI of the said
Hundred, and being part of the land comprised in certificate
of title, Volume 64, folio 61, Southland Registry, being more
particularly shown on Survey Office Plan 6689, and thereon
coloured in orange, deposited in the office of the Southland
County Council, Clyde Street, Invercargill.
