MAKARA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Maintenance Depot No. 1 Loan 1959, £10,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Makara County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £10,000 authorised to be raised by the Makara County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purposes of erecting the first stage of a plant and maintenance depot, the said Makara County Council hereby makes a special rate of fourteen hundredths pence (0·014d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the County Towns of Porirua, Takapuwahia, and Titahi Bay; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 15th day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Makara County Council held on Wednesday, the 11th day of May 1960.

MAKARA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Bridges Loan 1959, £2,000 (part of £3,500)

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Makara County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £2,000 authorised to be raised by the Makara County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of meeting the Council’s share of replacing a bridge, the said Makara County Council hereby makes a special rate of nine hundredths pence (0·900d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Ohariu, Makara, and Belmont Ridings of the County of Makara; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 15th day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Makara County Council held on Wednesday, the 11th day of May 1960.

GOLDEN BAY COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Hamama Rural Water Supply Loan 1959, £6,500

RESOLVED that, pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Golden Bay County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £6,500 authorised to be raised by the Golden Bay County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the Hamama Rural Water Supply, the said Golden Bay County Council hereby makes a special rate of two pence (2d.) in the pound upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property of the special rating area, comprising the Hamama Rural Water Supply Rating District in accordance with the special ratepayers roll; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully repaid.”—Hitchcock/Newport.

This resolution was moved and carried at a meeting of the Golden Bay County Council held in the Council Chambers, Commercial Street, Takaka, on the 12th day of April 1960, and duly confirmed at a meeting of the Council held on the 10th day of May 1960.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Streets Improvement Loan 1960, £295,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and its amendments and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of two hundred and ninety-five thousand pounds (£295,000) authorised to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving streets and constructing kerbs, channels, and footways, the Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of forty-four thousand five hundred and fifty-nine—two hundred and fifty thousandths of a penny (44,559/250,000d.) in the pound (£·00074265) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The Christchurch City Council at a meeting held on the 18th day of May 1960 passed the above resolution.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Street Works Loan 1960, £250,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and its amendments and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of two hundred and fifty thousand pounds (£250,000) authorised to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving streets and constructing kerbs, channels, and footways, the Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four hundred and seventy-four—three thousand one hundred and twenty-fifths of a penny (474/3,125d.) in the pound (£·000632) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The Christchurch City Council at a meeting held on the 18th day of May 1960 passed the above resolution.

RODNEY COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Rodney County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £3,000 authorised to be raised by the Rodney County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of refunding to its County Fund Account expenditure incurred on completing the Wellsford Sewerage Works, the said Rodney County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal 2370 pence in the pound (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Wellsford Riding of the County of Rodney; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Rodney County Council held on the 19th day of May 1960.

KIWITEA COUNTY COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PURSUANT to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1954, public notice is hereby given that the district scheme, under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, for the County of Kiwitea was approved by the Council, by resolution passed at its meeting held on the 20th day of April 1960, after all necessary requirements of the Act and regulations thereto had been complied with.

The Council has also resolved that the scheme shall come into operation on the 1st day of June 1960.

Copies of the scheme, as approved, have been deposited in the Council’s office and in every public library in the district and may be inspected, without fee, by any person who so requires at any time when these places are open to the public.
