At the Government House at Wellington this 27th day of April 1960
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
-
(1) This order may be cited as the Pukaki Rabbit District Order 1960.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. -
The boundaries of the Pukaki Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 30th day of March 1949,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE PUKAKI RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Canterbury and Otago Land Districts, Counties of Mackenzie and Waitaki, containing 455,100 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Waitaki and Ohau Rivers and proceeding north-westerly generally along the middle of the Ohau River, the eastern shore of Lake Ohau, and the left bank of the Hopkins River to a point due east of Temple Stream; thence westerly generally to and along the middle of that stream to its source on Barrier Range, near Mount Maitland; thence northerly generally along that range to Mount Strauchan on the Main Divide; thence north-easterly generally along the Main Divide to Copland Pass; thence easterly along a right line to Ball Pass on the Mount Cook Range; thence north-easterly generally to and along the south-eastern side of the Ball Glacier to the western side of the Tasman Glacier; thence southerly generally along the western side and the terminal face of that glacier to the left bank of the Tasman River; thence southerly along that bank to the northern shore of Lake Pukaki; thence westerly and southerly along the northern and western shores of Lake Pukaki to the middle of the Pukaki River at the outlet of the said lake; thence southerly along the middle of that river and the Waitaki River to the point of commencement.

Adding Lands to the Fiordland National Park

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 10 of the National Parks Act 1952, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the lands described in the First, Second, and Third Schedules hereto shall as from the date hereof be added to and form part of the Fiordland National Park, and such lands shall hereafter be subject to the provisions of the said Act.
FIRST SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
Provisional State Forest Land Subject to the Provisions of the Forests Act 1949 Added to Fiordland National Park
ALL those areas described as follows:
Firstly, all that area situated in Lake County and being parts of Martins Bay and Hollyford Survey Districts, containing 9,500 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Section 16, Block I, Martins Bay Survey District; thence proceeding easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of that section to the northern boundary of Section 43, Block II, Martins Bay Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 43, 65, and 66, Block II, and southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 66 to the northern boundary of Section 68, Block II; thence easterly along that boundary and southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 68 and 67, Block II, to the south-eastern corner of Section 67 aforesaid; thence westerly along the southern boundary of Section 67 to and southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 64, Block II to and westerly along the southern boundary of Section 64 to the eastern boundary of Section 63, Block II; thence southerly along that boundary to the northern boundary of Section 37, Block II; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 37, 39, and 40, Block II, and southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 40 to its south-eastern corner; thence due east to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 22, Block II; thence due south to the south-western corner of Section 22 and easterly along the southern boundary of that section to its south-eastern corner; thence south-easterly along a straight line between that corner and Trig. ZO, Martins Bay Survey District to a point on the bush line approximately 3 chains north-west of Trig ZO; thence generally south-easterly along the bush line to and generally south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Run 472 to the north-eastern bank of the Hollyford River; thence generally north-westerly along that bank to the eastern boundary of Town Reserve, Block I, Hollyford Survey District; thence northerly along that boundary to and generally north-westerly along the eastern shore of Lake McKerrow to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 21, Block II, Martins Bay Survey District; thence to and northerly and westerly along the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 21 to the eastern boundary of Section 20, Block II; thence northerly, westerly, and southerly along the eastern, northern, and western boundaries of Section 20 to the south-eastern corner of Section 9, Block II; thence generally south-westerly and northerly along the south-eastern and western boundaries of Section 9 to and westerly along the southern boundary of Section 26, Block II to its south-western corner; thence generally northerly along the western boundaries of Sections 26, 38, and 32, Block II, to and easterly along the northern boundary of Section 32 aforesaid, to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 43, Block II; thence to and northerly along that boundary to the southern boundary of Section 16, Block I, Martins Bay Survey District; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of that section to the point of commencement; excluding therefrom Sections 1–7, 9, 11, and 13–21, Block I, Sections 1–9, 11, 15, and 17, Block II, Sections 1–7 and 11, Block III, Sections 1–7, 9, 11, 13, and 20, Block V, and Sections 1, 2, 19, and 20, Block VI, Town of Jamestown.
Secondly, all that area situated in Lake County, containing 656 acres, more or less, being Sections 2, 3, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 17, Block I, Martins Bay Survey District.
Thirdly, all that area situated in Lake County, containing 100 acres, more or less, being Sections 6 and 8, Block I, Martins Bay Survey District.
Fourthly, all that area situated in Lake County and being parts of Martins Bay and Hollyford Survey Districts, containing 310 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Run 472 on the eastern boundary of Martins Bay Survey District and proceeding south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Run 472 to the south-eastern boundary of Run 508; thence generally north-easterly along that boundary to a straight line between Trig. ZO, Martins Bay Survey District and the north-western corner of Run 472 aforesaid; thence south-easterly along that line to the point of commencement.
And including the beds and waters of all internal rivers, lakes, and streams, but excluding all public roads.
As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 52592 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, under No. 3123, and thereon edged blue.
SECOND SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
Permanent State Forest Land Subject to the Provisions of the Forests Act 1949 Added to Fiordland National Park
ALL those areas described as follows:
Firstly, all that area situated in Lake County and being part of Wilmot Survey District, containing 23,400 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Stripe Point on the southern boundary of Wilmot Survey District and proceeding generally north-easterly along the sea coast to the bush line approximately 40 chains north of the Kaipo River; thence generally south-easterly, southerly, westerly, southerly, easterly, and south-westerly along the bush line to and westerly along the southern boundary of Wilmot Survey District to the point of commencement; excluding therefrom the open tops of Mounts McGulsh, Sutherland, and Richardson, Wilmot Survey District.
Secondly, all that area situated in Lake County and being part of Wilmot, Martins Bay, and Hollyford Survey Districts, containing 16,500 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the bush line on the sea coast approximately 80 chains north of the Kaipo River, Wilmot Survey District, and proceeding generally north-easterly along the sea coast to the northernmost corner of Wilmot Survey District; thence generally north-easterly and south-easterly along the top of the cliff face Block IX, Martins Bay Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 12, Block IX, aforesaid; thence generally south-easterly and north-easterly along the generally northern boundaries of Sections 12, 11, 10, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 1, Block IX, to the northernmost corner of Section 1 aforesaid; thence northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of Section 36, Block II,
