PURSUANT to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as a reserve for soil conservation and river control purposes.

Change of Purpose of a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby changes the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from a reserve for scenic purposes to a foreshore reserve.

Reservation of Land and Declaration That Land be Under Control of Wanganui River Scenic Board

PURSUANT to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as reserves for scenic purposes, and further, pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, declares the said reserves to be under the control of the Wanganui River Scenic Board.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situated in the Retaruke and Whirinaki Survey Districts containing 13,060 acres approximately and bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block XI, Retaruke Survey District, on the left bank of the Wanganui River in line with the south-western boundary of Section 21, Block XI aforesaid; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary to the southernmost corner of that section; thence easterly generally along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 21, 20, and 19, the south-western boundaries of Sections 18, 17, 15, 14, 12, and 13, Block XI aforesaid to the north-western boundary of Section 10, Block XI aforesaid; thence south-westerly generally along that boundary, the north-western and south-western boundaries of Section 11, Block XI aforesaid, to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 1, Block X, Retaruke Survey District, across a road, to and along that boundary, the northern boundaries of Section 2, Block X aforesaid, the western boundaries of Sections 1 and 3, Block XIV, Retaruke Survey District, the northern and north-western boundaries of Section 1, Block I, Whirinaki Survey District, the north-western boundaries of Sections 2 and 3, Block I aforesaid, the north-western boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block V, Whirinaki Survey District, the northern, western, and southern boundaries of Section 1, Block XVII, Whirinaki Survey District, to the right bank of the Otumangu Stream; thence southerly along that bank to and along the western side of the Manga-wai-iti Stock Track to and along the western boundary of Section 1, Block XVII aforesaid and the south-western boundary of the Otumangu Landing to the left bank of the Wanganui River; thence westerly, northerly, and easterly generally along the said left bank to the point of commencement and excluding therefrom those portions of the Raetihi-Ohura Road and the Otaihanga Road included therein.

Also all that area situated in Block XIV, Whirinaki Survey District, containing 280 acres, more or less, being part of Waimarino 5 Block, and bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Waimarino 5B 6B and proceeding south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of that block and scenic reserve to the left bank of the Wanganui River; thence northerly generally along that bank to the point of commencement. Section 1, Block IV, Omara Survey District: Area, 2,227 acres 2 roods, more or less. (S.O. Plan 3703.)

Total area, 17,468 acres 3 roods 13 perches.

All the above areas are as shown on the plan marked L. and S. 1/440B deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington and thereon edged red.

Cancellation of the Vesting in the Pahiatua County Council and Change of Purpose of a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Pahiatua and changes the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from a reserve for gravel purposes to a reserve for soil conservation and river control purposes.

Social Security Amendment Act 1939: Maternity Notice

PURSUANT to section 13 (5) of the Social Security Amendment Act 1939, the Minister of Health hereby gives notice that advice has been received from David Russell Hay, M.B., Ch.B.(N.Z.), of 137 Cambridge Terrace, Christchurch, that he is unwilling to afford medical services in relation to maternity on the terms provided for in section 13 of the Social Security Amendment Act 1939 and that consequently he is entitled to recover any fees in respect of his professional services as if that Act had not been passed.
