Declaring Areas to be Access Lanes for the Purposes of the
Motor Launch Regulations 1958

PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1958, the Minister
of Marine hereby declares that, for a period of two years from
the date hereof, subject to compliance with the conditions set
out in the First Schedule hereto, the areas of water firstly to
eighthly described in the Second Schedule hereto shall respect-
ively be access lanes and that within such access lanes
regulations 9 and 10 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1958
shall not apply.

FIRST SCHEDULE

EACH access lane shall be marked as follows:

  1. Brightly painted marker buoys each 50 yd apart
    commencing 50 yd from the edge of the lake at normal lake
    level shall be suitably moored along each side of the access
    lane.

  2. On the edge of the lake at normal lake level at each
    side of the access lane in line with the marker buoys there
    shall be placed a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in.
    by 2 ft painted white with black letters.

  3. The aforesaid notice boards shall contain the following
    notice.

“NOTICE
Motor Launch Regulations 1958
Access lane through which motor launches
towing water skiers may pass at speeds greater
than 5 miles per hour.
Bathers Keep Out.”

SECOND SCHEDULE

FIRSTLY, all that area of water immediately in front of the
terraced car park at the north-western corner of Lake Tikitapu
bounded on the sides by parallel lines extending in a 168°
true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water the eastern
boundary being in line with the eastern corner of the Rotorua
County boundary reserve and the western boundary com-
mencing at a point on the lake edge on a bearing of 215°
true from where the eastern boundary abuts the shore.

Secondly, all that area of water at Hannahs Bay, Lake
Rotorua, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd
apart extending in a 350° true direction 200 yd from the edge
of the water, the western boundary being in line with the
second willow tree east of the second creek from where the
Hannahs Bay access road reaches the beach.

Thirdly, all that area of water fronting the road reserve
east of Gisborne Point in Lake Rotoiti bounded on the sides
by parallel lines 30 yd apart extending in an 018° true
direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the eastern
boundary in line with the green boat shed on the eastern
edge of the reserve.

Fourthly, all that area of water at Hinehopu, Lake Rotoiti,
bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart extending
in 238° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water the
southernmost boundary being in line with the second to last
power pole in the bay.

Fifthly, all that area of water at Okawa Bay, Lake Rotoiti,
bounded on the sides by parallel lines 40 yd apart extending in
a 138° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water
the south-western boundary being in line with a pile at the
corner of Webster’s Motor Camp.

Sixthly, all that area of water at the north-eastern end of
Lake Rotoma bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd
apart extending in a 120° true direction 200 yd from the
edge of the water the southern boundary being in line with
the end of a line of willow trees.

Seventhly, all that area of water on the north-eastern side
of the Ohau Channel, Lake Rotorua, bounded on the sides
by parallel lines 100 yd apart extending in a 240° true
direction 200 yd from the edge of the water the south-eastern
boundary commencing at a point 33 yd south-east from the
Ohau Channel Motor Camp boundary.

Eighthly, all that area of water at Ngongotaha, Lake Rotorua,
bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart extending
in a 090° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water
the southern boundary commencing at the southern boundary
of the Ngongotaha County Council reserve.

Licensing Otakou Fisheries Limited to Use and Occupy a
Part of the Foreshore and Bed of the Sea at Karitane as a
Site for a Pipeline

——

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine
hereby licenses and permits the Otakou Fisheries Ltd. (here-
inafter called the company, which term shall include its
successors or assigns, unless the context requires a different
construction) to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and
bed of the sea at Karitane as shown on plan marked M.D.
10699 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department
at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining
thereon a pipeline as shown on the said plan, such licence
to be held and enjoyed by the company upon and subject
to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regu-
    lations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall,
    so far as applicable, apply hereto.

  2. The premium payable by the company shall be five
    pounds (£5) and the annual sum so payable three pounds (£3).

  3. The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st day
    of December 1959.

Licensing Barrier Whaling Co. Ltd. to Use and Occupy a Part
of the Foreshore and Bed of the Harbour at Whangapara-
para, Great Barrier Island, as a Site for a Wharf and
Concrete Retaining Wall

——

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine
hereby licenses and permits Barrier Whaling Co. Ltd. (herein-
after called the licensee, which term shall include its successors
or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction)
to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and bed of the
harbour at Whangaparapara, Great Barrier Island, as shown
on plan marked M.D. 10721 and deposited in the office of the
Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting
and maintaining thereon a wharf and concrete retaining wall
as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed
by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions
as set forth in the Schedule hereto.

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regula-
    tions 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far
    as applicable, apply hereto.

  2. The premium payable by the licensee shall be five pounds
    (£5) and the annual sum so payable ten pounds (£10).

  3. The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st day
    of January 1960.

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the
Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act
1948 as from the 18th day of January 1960.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing 1 rood 17·8 perches situated
in Block VIII, Otamatea Survey District, Auckland R.D.,
and being part Lot 2, D.P. 38696, being part Allotments N.E.
179 and M. 179, Parish of Oruawharo; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 159868
(S.O. 41269) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works
at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue, edged blue.
