Borough of Lyttelton Included in Christchurch Metropolitan United Urban Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 16th day of December 1959
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

The Lyttelton Urban Fire District is hereby abolished and the Lyttelton Fire Committee is hereby dissolved.

The Borough of Lyttelton is hereby included in and shall form part of the Christchurch Metropolitan United Urban Fire District.

The number of members to be elected to represent the Councils of the City of Christchurch, the Boroughs of Lyttelton and Riccarton and the Counties of Waimairi, Paparua, Heathcote, and Halswell on the Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board shall be four.

Notwithstanding the provisions of the Fire Services Act 1949, all that area of land containing one acre two roods thirty-eight perches and eight-tenths of a perch, more or less, being Reserve Number 34 and being the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 404, folio 103, Canterbury Registry, and the buildings thereon, shall not vest in the Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board pursuant to that Act but shall remain vested in the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Lyttelton.

Except as otherwise expressly provided herein the abolition of the Lyttelton Urban Fire District and the dissolution of the Lyttelton Fire Committee shall be deemed to have been effected under the Fire Services Act 1949.

This Order in Council shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1960 except for the purposes of the next triennial election of members of the Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board to be held in February 1960 for which purpose the said Order in Council shall be deemed to come into force on the date hereof.

PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

This order may be cited as the Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board Election Order 1958, Amending Order 1959.

The Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board Election Order 1958 (hereinafter referred to as the principal order) is hereby amended by inserting in clause 3, before the words “the Riccarton Borough Council”, the words “the Lyttelton Borough Council”.

For the purposes of clause 14 of the principal order the contribution of the Lyttelton Borough Council to the Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board in the year ending with the 31st day of March 1960 shall be deemed to be the payment made or to be made by that Council pursuant to section 53 of the Fire Services Act 1949 to the Fire Service Account of the Lyttelton Urban Fire Authority during that year.

The Papakura High School Board of Governors Order 1959

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 90 of the Education Act 1914, as amended by section 10 of the Education Amendment Act 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Papakura High School Board of Governors Order 1959.
(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of June 1960.
- The constitution of the Board of Governors of Papakura High School, prescribed by the Papakura High School Board of Governors Order 1953,* is hereby varied so that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in section 90 of the Education Act 1914, the school shall be controlled by a Board of Governors constituted as follows:
(a) One member appointed by the Auckland Education Board:
(b) Two members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school, being parents who are resident in the Borough of Papakura:
(c) Three members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school, being parents who are not resident in the Borough of Papakura:
(d) Two members appointed by the Governor-General:
(e) One member appointed by the Papakura Borough Council:
(f) One member appointed by the Franklin County Council:
(g) One member to be co-opted by the Board of Governors itself, if and when it thinks fit.
- The Papakura High School Board of Governors Order 1953* is hereby revoked.

The Buller Milk District Supply Association Approval Order 1959 (Notice No. Ag. 6891)

PURSUANT to the Milk Act 1944, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Buller Milk District Supply Association Approval Order 1959.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

The company known as the Buller Cooperative Milk Producers’ Association Ltd. is hereby approved as the Supply Association for the Buller Milk District.

The Order in Council made on the 27th day of October 1948,* approving the Westport United Dairies Ltd. as the Supply Association for the Buller Milk District, is hereby revoked.

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a meeting place for the common use and benefit of the members of the Whatuiapiti hapu of the Ngati Kahungunu tribe.
