Adding Land to the Fiordland National Park

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 8th day of December 1959
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 10 of the National Parks Act 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, as from the date hereof, be added to and form part of the Fiordland National Park and shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with by the Fiordland National Park Board in accordance with the provisions of the said Act.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT
THOSE islands known as Solander Island and Little Solander Island, together with outlying islets, containing by estimation 300 acres approximately, and situated at 46° 34′ south latitude and 166° 54′ east longitude. As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 26922 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

Validating Proceedings in Connection With the Bay of Islands Electric Power Board’s Loan of £100,000

THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Bay of Islands Electric Power Board is proceeding by way of special order to raise a loan of £100,000 to be known as the Reticulation Extension Loan No. 14, 1959:
And whereas the special order made by the said Board to raise the said loan was irregular or defective in that the two public notifications required by paragraph (c) of subsection (1) of section 45 of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925 as amended by section 3 of the Electric Power Boards Amendment Act 1958, although given twice with an interval of not less than 14 days between each, were not both given during the period of 28 days immediately preceding the date of the subsequent meeting confirming the resolution to raise the said loan:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers of the district have not been misled by such irregularity or defect as aforesaid and it is expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 130 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the proceedings in connection with the raising of the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the said public notifications had been given in the prescribed manner, and hereby further orders and declares that the validity of the proceedings in connection with the raising of the said loan or of the security for the said loan shall not be questioned on the ground of the irregularity or defect aforesaid.

Defining Limits of Port Taranaki Pilotage District
COBHAM, Governor-General
PURSUANT to section 211 of the Harbours Act 1950, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby define the limits of the Port Taranaki Pilotage District, within which pilots may act for the purposes of the said Act, to be all the sea and tidal waters within the area of a circle having a radius of 2½ nautical miles and having its centre at Trigonometrical Station XXVII, Moturoa, Paritutu Survey District, such centre being as shown on plan marked M.D. 1660 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 10th day of December 1959.

Commander A. B. Gilfillan, O.B.E., V.R.D., to be employed on the Supplementary List for a further 12 months from 2 September 1959.
Acting Surgeon Commander J. MacDonald, M.B., CH.B., confirmed in rank with seniority of 3 January 1958.
Lieutenant-Commanders J. E. Washbourn, A. V. Kempthorne, and W. R. Williams, promoted to rank of Commander, to date 31 December 1958.
