Extending the Time for Presenting the Report of a Commission Appointed to Inquire Into Accident at Kings Wharf Premises of Auckland Farmers Freezing Co. Ltd.

CHARLES FRED KETTLEBOROUGH, B.E.(HONS.)(SHEFFIELD), PH.D.(SHEFFIELD), A.M.I.MECH.E.(LONDON), M.N.Z.I.E., of Auckland, Professor of Mechanical Engineering; and

RODGER NORMAN KERR, A.M.I.MECH.E., Extra 1st Cl. Mar. Eng. Cert., of Wellington, Chief Building Services Engineer, Ministry of Works.

GREETING:

Whereas, pursuant to the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, you, the said Leonard George Herston Sinclair, Charles Fred Kettleborough, and Rodger Norman Kerr, were appointed on the 7th day of October 1959, to be a Commission to inquire into and report upon certain matters in connection with the accident which occurred on the 3rd day of September 1959 in the Kings Wharf premises at Auckland of the Auckland Farmers Freezing Co. Ltd. and in which, as the result of an escape of ammonia, two members of the public were killed, four members of the public were injured, and other members of the public were or might have been exposed to risk of death or injury:

And whereas you were required to report to me not later than the 30th day of November 1959:

And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be extended:

Now, therefore, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby extend until the 16th day of December 1959 the time within which you are so required to report:

And I hereby confirm the said Commission save as modified by these presents.

Given in Executive Council under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 25th day of November 1959.

Relinquishment of Appointment to the Air Board of an Officer of the Royal New Zealand Air Force

PURSUANT to section 19 of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following relinquishment of appointment to the Air Board of an officer of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

RELINQUISHMENT

Air Commodore Cameron Archer Turner, O.B.E., A.M.I.E.E., A.F.R.AE.S., p.s.a., RNZAF, relinquishes the appointment of Air Member for Personnel and Member of the Air Board. Dated 13 November 1959.
