At the Government House at Wellington this 26th day of August 1959

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Kakanui Range Rabbit District Order 1959.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The boundaries of the Kakanui Range Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 25th day of September 1957,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE KAKANUI RANGE RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Otago Land District and the County of Waitaki containing 141,500 acres approximately, bounded by a line commencing at Trig. A, Kakanui Peak; thence north-westerly along the south-western and western boundaries of Run 681, Kakanui Survey District, and Section 2, Block XIV, Kyeburn Survey District; thence generally north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of that Section 2, and Section 2, Block VIII, Kakanui Survey District, and the north-western and northern boundaries of Section 2, Block II, Kakanui Survey District, to Trig. DD; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 2, Block II, to and north-easterly along the south branch of the Maerewhenua River to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 53, Block IX, Maerewhenua Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 53 and 54 and north-easterly and south-easterly along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Section 48, Block IX, aforesaid; thence generally southerly along eastern boundaries of Block IX, Maerewhenua Survey District, and Block IV, Kakanui Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 15, Block X, Kauru Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 15 and 14, Block X, Kauru Survey District, to the Kakanui River, thence generally south-easterly down the centre of the Kakanui River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 3A, Kauru Hill Settlement; thence south-westerly to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 4A and 5A, to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 6A; thence generally southerly to and along the eastern boundaries of Sections 6A and 18A, Kauru Hill Settlement, to French Road; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of French Road to Kauru Hill Road; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that road to Mount Pleasant Road; thence generally south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that road to Allen Road; thence generally westerly along the northern boundary of that road to the eastern boundary of Run 572, Kauru Survey District; thence generally southerly along the eastern boundaries of Run 572, Run 217B, Section 4, Block XV, and Section 2, Block XIV, Otepopo Survey District, to the northern boundary of Run 209; thence easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of Run 209 to the North Branch of the Waianakarua River; thence generally south-westerly up the centre of that North Branch and along the southern boundaries of Run 209 and Run 217B, to its southernmost corner; thence generally north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Runs 217B, 572, and 571, the south-western and western boundaries of Section 1, Block XV, Kakanui Survey District, and the south-western boundary of Run 682 to the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Tokarahi Rabbit District Order 1959.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The boundaries of the Tokarahi Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 6th day of March 1946,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE TOKARAHI RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Waitaki County and Oamaru Borough, Otago Land District, containing 101,800 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of Section 28, Block VII, Maerewhenua Survey District, situated in Tokarahi Settlement; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of the Livingstone-Duntroon Road and the Waiareka-Ngapara-Duntroon Main Highway to the Pukeuri-Kurow-Omarama Main Highway; thence westerly along the southern boundary of that highway to the centre of the Maerewhenua River; thence north-easterly down the centre of the main stream of that river to its confluence with the Waitaki River; thence generally south-easterly along the centre of the main stream of the Waitaki River to the confluence of the Awamoko Stream; thence generally south-westerly up the centre of the Awamoko Stream to the Pukeuri-Kurow-Omarama Main Highway; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that highway to Boundary Road; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that road to Bobbing Stream Road; thence southerly along the western boundary of that road to the Ngapara Branch Railway; thence generally south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that railway to Windsor Road; thence north-easterly along the northern boundary of that road to and across the Waiareka-Ngapara-Duntroon Main Highway; thence generally south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of that highway to its junction with the Timaru-Dunedin State Highway; thence easterly along the northern boundary of that highway and Wansbeck Street and its production to the shore of the Oamaru Harbour; thence generally south-easterly and south-westerly along the seashore to the mouth of the Kakanui River; thence generally north-westerly up the centre of the Kakanui River to the north-eastern corner of Section 14, Block X, Kauru Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Sections 14 and 15 to the western boundary of Block X, Kauru Survey District; thence northerly along that boundary and the eastern boundary of Block IX, Maerewhenua Survey District, to the north-east corner of Section 48, Block IX, aforesaid; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Section 48, Block IX, aforesaid; thence north-westerly to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 54 and 53, Block IX, aforesaid, to a point in the middle of the south branch of the Maerewhenua River; thence generally north-easterly down the middle of that river to its confluence with the north branch of that river; thence north-easterly along the middle of the Maerewhenua River to a point in line with the northern boundary of Dansey Pass Road in Section 8, Block IX, Maerewhenua Survey District; thence north-easterly to and along the northern boundary of that road and across a road to the point of commencement.

  1. The boundaries of the East Taupo Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 8th day of May 1957,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
