SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE EAST TAUPŌ RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the South Auckland, Wellington, and Hawke’s Bay Land Districts, the Taupo, Rotorua, and Whakatane Counties, and the Taupo Borough containing 862,150 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the middle of the mouth of the Tongariro River on the southern shore of Lake Taupo in Block VI, Puketi Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly generally along the southern and eastern shores of Lake Taupo to and down the middle of the Waikato River to and south-easterly along the boundary of the Taupo County as described in Gazette, 1950, page 276, and generally northerly again along the aforesaid boundary, to and along the southern boundary of part Paeroa East 3A Block, the southern and eastern boundaries of Paeroa East 3c Block, the eastern boundary of the said 3A Block and the eastern and northern boundaries of part Paeroa East 4A Block to and along the boundary of the Taupo County aforesaid and along the eastern boundary of Section 20, Block XI, the eastern end of a public road, the eastern boundary of Section 19, Block XI, and Section 29, Block VII, and part Section 76s, Reporoa Settlement, the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 28, Block VII, and the northern boundaries of part Section 76s aforesaid, and Section 27, Block VII, the above-mentioned blocks being of the Paeroa Survey District, the southern and western boundaries of part Paeroa East 4B 1B 1 Block and again generally northerly along the south-western boundary of part Paeroa East 4B 1A Block aforesaid, the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of parts Section 5, Block VII, Paeroa Survey District, the generally eastern boundaries of Section 8 of the said Block VII and that boundary produced to and up the middle of the Waiotapu Stream to and along the northern side of the public road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 7, Block VII aforesaid, along a right line across another public road to and along the north-eastern boundary of Section 9 of that Block VII and the north-eastern side of the Waiotapu Loop Road to and along the western boundary of part Paeroa East 1A West, the western sides of the Rotorua-Waikaremoana and the Rotorua-Taupo State Highways to the south-western boundary of part Rotomahana-Parekarangi 6P 2B Block in Block III, Paeroa Survey District; thence generally easterly along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the aforesaid 6P 2B Block, along the southern boundary of part Section 8, Block XV, Tarawera Survey District, along the western and south-western boundaries of Rotomahana-Parekarangi 5B 5A Block and the south-western boundaries of Rotomahana-Parekarangi 5B 5B, 5B 4B, and 5B 1 Blocks to the southernmost corner of the said 5B 1 Block; thence due south along a right line to and along the north-eastern side of the Rotorua-Waikaremoana State Highway to and southerly up the middle of the Rangitaiki River and up the middle of the Wheao River to its confluence with the middle of the Otuea Stream in Block VI, Heruiwi Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 74A (Otamapotiki) in Block VII, Heruiwi Survey District; thence south-westerly along another right line to Trig. Station A (Pohokura) in Block IX, Mangahopai West Survey District; thence westerly along another right line to Trig. Station 57 (Opureke) in Block VI, Runanga Survey District, and south-westerly along a right line to the intersection in Block IX, Runanga Survey District, of the western side of the Taupo-Napier State Highway with the middle of the Waipunga River; thence again southerly down the middle of the Waipunga River to and westerly generally up the middle of the Mohaka River, the middle of the Ripia River, and continuing along the north-western boundary of Pakaututu Block and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the aforesaid Mohaka River in Block XIII, Kaweka Survey District; thence again westerly generally up the middle of that river to its confluence with the middle of the Kaipo Stream in Block V, Aripia Survey District; thence along a right line to Trig. Station 1123 (Ahi-paepae) on the southern boundary of Block XIV, Waitahanui Survey District, and along another right line to the southernmost corner of Tauranga-Taupo 3A Block on the southern boundary of Block XIII, Waitahanui Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to the confluence of the middle of the Waipa Stream with the middle of the Tongariro River in Block XII, Pihanga Survey District; thence northerly down the middle of the Tongariro River to the point of commencement.

The Taupo Rabbit District Order 1959 (Notice No. Ag. 6836)

At the Government House at Wellington this 26th day of August 1959

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Taupo Rabbit District Order 1959.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  2. The boundaries of the Taupo Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 21st day of October 1953,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE TAUPŌ RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District in the Otorohanga and Taupo Counties containing 371,210 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Waipapa and Waikato Rivers in Block XVI, Wharepapa Survey District, and proceeding generally easterly, southerly, and westerly up the middle of the Waikato River to the northern shore of Lake Taupo in Block II, Tauhara Survey District; thence westerly generally along the northern shores of Lake Taupo to the southernmost corner of Tihoi 1 Block in Block XIV, Marotiri Survey District; thence northerly generally along the eastern boundaries of Waihaha (3D 1 and 3E 4) C, (3D 1 and 3E 4) A Blocks, the eastern and northern boundary of 3E 3 Block and the northern boundary of Waihaha 3A Block and the eastern boundary of Maraeroa A 2 Block to Trig. Station 1390 (Pureora) in Block III, Hurakia Survey District; thence along a right line to the source of the Ongarue River and along another right line in the direction of Trig. Station 1641 (Rangitoto) in Block IV, Pakaumana Survey District, to the south-eastern boundary of Maraeroa A 3B 2 Block in Block XIV, Ranginui Survey District, crossing the aforesaid Maraeroa A 2 and Maraeroa A 3A Blocks; thence along the south-eastern and eastern boundaries of the aforesaid A 3B 2 Block, along the eastern boundary of Maraeroa A 1 Block, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Pouakani B 7 Block and the production of that boundary to and down the middle of the Waiteti Stream to a point in Block XI, Ranginui Survey District, due west of Trig. Station 1781 in Block X, Whakamaru Survey District; thence due west along a right line crossing the aforesaid Pouakani B 7 Block and the Waipapa River to a point due south of the northernmost corner of Section 2, Block VII, Ranginui Survey District; thence along a right line crossing Pouakani A 3B, Pouakani A 3A Blocks and the aforesaid Section 2 to the said northernmost corner; thence along another right line crossing part Wharepuhanga 20 and Pouakani A 2B Blocks to the confluence of the Maunukiore Stream and the Waipapa River and down the middle of that river to the point of commencement.

  2. The boundaries of the Reporoa Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 21st day of January 1941,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

BOUNDARIES OF THE REPOROA RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District in the Rotorua and Taupo Counties containing 124,000 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of part Rotomahana-Parekarangi 6A 2 No. 1A Block in Block XIV, Tarawera Survey District, and proceeding southerly generally along the south-western side of the Rotorua-Taupo State Highway to and along the south-western boundary of part Rotomahana-Parekarangi 6P 2B Block to and along the western side of the aforesaid State highway to and along the western side of the Rotorua-Waikaremoana State Highway the western boundary of part Paeroa East 1A West Block, the north-eastern side of the Waiotapu Loop Road, the north-eastern boundary of Section 9, Block VII aforesaid (along a right line across a public road to and along the northern
