PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land for the purposes of the Land Act 1948 as from the 31st day of August 1959.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing 30 perches, situated in Block X, Christchurch Survey District, Canterbury R.D., and being Lot 246, D.P. 19547, being part Rural Section 2214. Part of the land in Proclamations Nos. 341172 and 346675, Canterbury Land Registry.

Notice of Intention to Take Additional Land in Block V, Mangonui Survey District, for a Quarry

———

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for a quarry and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Mangonui and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of such land set forth the same in writing and send the writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

ALL that piece of land containing 6 acres 3 roods 33·5 perches, situated in Block V, Mangonui Survey District, Auckland R.D., and being part Pukenui No. 2 Block; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 159790 (S.O. 41441) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to section 20 (1) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, approval has been granted to the Waimate County Council to prepare, recommend, and approve its district scheme by sections as follows:

Section 1—Waimate Borough Environs Section: As described in the First Schedule hereto.

Section 2—Rural Section: As described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

WAIMATE COUNTY DISTRICT SCHEME

Section 1—Waimate Borough Environs Section

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, County of Waimate, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the middle lines of Parsonage Road, Whitneys Road, and Maytown Road, in Block X, Waimate Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly generally, along the middle of the last-mentioned road, Timaru Road, and Bathgates Road, to the middle of the Waimate Branch Railway; thence south-westerly along a right line to the intersection of the middle lines of McNamaras Highway and Horgans Road, along the middle of that road and Studholme Settlement Road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 22, Waimate Settlement; thence north-westerly to and along the south-western boundaries of that section and Section 17, Waimate Settlement, and its production to the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 6288; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of the last-mentioned section, Rural Section 6298, and Rural Section 6302, to the eastern-most corner of Rural Section 33549; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to a point in line with the middle of the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Sections 46, 39, 9, 6, and 4, Waimate Settlement, to and along the middle line of that road and its production to the south-western boundary of Rural Section 9666x, along the generally south-western boundaries of that section and Rural Section 5912x to the south-western side of the road intersecting Rural Section 5643 and forming the south-western boundary of Rural Section 2017; thence due north to the middle of that road and north-westerly along its middle line to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Rural Section 4317; thence north-easterly generally to and along that boundary and its production to the south-western boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 820, comprised in balance C.T. 253/39, along that boundary and its production to the middle of Hunt Street, along the middle of that street, Fitzmaurice Road, the road forming the north-western boundaries of Rural Sections 2120 and 5706, and Parsonage Road to the point of commencement, excluding therefrom the Borough of Waimate as described in Gazette, 1948, page 484.

Limited Speed Zones Declared and Closely Populated Localities Declared

———

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. So much of the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 30th day of November 1951,* as relates to Park Road at Titirangi in Waitemata County is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.

Closely Populated Localities

SITUATED within Waitemata County at Titirangi and Green Bay—

Godley Road (from its junction with the New Lynn - Huia via Brooklyn Main Highway No. 808 to a point 40 chains east of the said junction, and from the junction of Avonleigh Road with Godley Road to the junction of Cleve Road with Godley Road).

Golf Road (from its junction with the New Lynn - Huia via Brooklyn Main Highway No. 808 to the junction of Portage Road with Golf Road).

Cliff View Road, Braids Road, Atkinson Road, Norman Road, Derwent Crescent, and Kauriland Road.

Limited Speed Zones

SITUATED within Waitemata County at Titirangi—

West Lynn Road (from its junction with the New Lynn - Huia via Brooklyn Main Highway No. 808 to a point 32 chains north-east of the said junction).

Park Road, Otitori Bay Road, Takahe Road, Wood Bay Road, Mahoe Road, View Road, and Mount Atkinson Drive.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

———

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive an unladen heavy trade motor in the course of his employment as an apprentice mechanic for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
