Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Amendment of Standard Specification

PURSUANT to the Standards Act 1941 and the regulations made thereunder, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, on 18 August 1959, amended the under-mentioned standard specification by the incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder:

Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 614:1959: Meteorological thermometers; being B.S. 692:1958.

Amendment: No. 1 (Ref. No. PD 3259, 19 January 1959).

Price of Copy (Post Free): 4s. 6d.

Application for copies of the standard specification so amended should be made to the N.Z. Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay (P.O. Box 195), Wellington C.1. Copies of the amendment will be supplied, free of charge, upon request.

Notice to Make Payment of Land Tax Under the Land and Income Tax Act 1954

PURSUANT to the Land and Income Tax Act 1954, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue hereby gives notice as follows:

Land Tax for the year of assessment, which commenced on the 1st day of April 1959, shall be due and payable in one sum on the 15th day of September 1959 at any office of the Taxes Division, Inland Revenue Department, or at any money-order post office.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in County of Waitemata
(Notice No. Ag. 6829)

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said section, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Waitemata County Council on the 30th day of July 1959.

SPECIAL ORDER

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Waitemata County Council doth hereby declare, by way of special order, the following plants referred to in the First Schedule of the aforementioned Act to be noxious weeds within the County of Waitemata:

Bathurst bur (Xanthium spinosum).
Stinking mayweed (Anthemis cotula).

and that the coming into effect of this special order take effect from the date on which it is gazetted.
