Authorising the Invercargill City Council to Erect and Use Electric Lines Within Part of the City of Invercargill

At the Government House at Wellington this 19th day of August 1959

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Invercargill City Council (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use electric lines within the area of supply described in the Schedule hereto.

CONDITIONS

IMPLIED CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

  1. The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958 and with all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.

SYSTEMS OF SUPPLY

  1. The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a), (d), (f), and (h) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.

DURATION OF LICENCE

  1. This licence shall, unless sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1979.

ALL that portion of the City of Invercargill shown outlined in brown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 512 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

Reapportioning Representation on the Bay of Plenty Electric Power Board

At the Government House at Wellington this 19th day of August 1959

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby determines as follows:

  1. This Order in Council shall come into force on the date of the next general election of the representatives of the constituent districts of the Bay of Plenty Electric Power District.

  2. The constituent districts which are bracketed together in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be a combined district for the purposes of the said Act.

  3. The local authority of the constituent district distinguished in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the letter “(P)” shall be the principal local authority of the said combined district.

  4. The number of representatives of each constituent district or combined district of the Bay of Plenty Electric Power District on the Bay of Plenty Electric Power Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district or combined district.

  5. The first elections of the representatives of the combined district and of Kawerau Borough shall be held on the date of the said next general election.

  6. The Orders in Council dated the 3rd day of June 1936 and published in the Gazette on the 18th day of the same month at page 1159, apportioning representation on the Bay of Plenty Electric Power Board and dated the 12th day of June 1936 and published in the Gazette on the 18th day of the same month at page 1159, amending the said Order in Council dated the 3rd day of June 1936, are hereby revoked.

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purposes of a meeting place for the common use and benefit of the descendants of Mere Taura and Ngati Hikairo hapu.

Appointing One Member of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Act 1950, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby appoint

Frederick Charles Chandler, J.P., of Auckland,

to be a member of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority for a term of five years from the 18th day of August 1959.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 18th day of August 1959.

to be a member of the Nurses and Midwives Board for a period of three years commencing on the 14th day of August 1959, and reappoint

to be a member of the Board for a period of three years commencing on the 1st day of June 1959, and reappoint

Gladys Anne Sandford, R.N., R.M., P.G.,
