Pursuant to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
-
(1) This order may be cited as the Wairarapa East Rabbit District Order 1959.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. -
The boundaries of the Wairarapa East Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 29th day of August 1945,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIRARAPA EAST RABBIT DISTRICT
All that area in the Wellington Land District comprising part of the County of Masterton, the Counties of Wairarapa South and Featherston, and the Boroughs of Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Featherston, and Martinborough, and bounded by a line commencing at a point on the shore of Palliser Bay in line with the northern boundary of Orongorongo A 1, situated in Block IX, Pencarrow Survey District; thence north-easterly generally to and along that boundary, to and along the summit of the Rimutaka and Tararua Ranges to a point due west of the northernmost source of the Waingawa River; thence south-easterly generally along a right line to the source of that river and down the middle of that river to the northern boundary of Block X, Mikimiki Survey District; thence easterly generally along that boundary and the eastern boundary of that block to the southern side of the Mikimiki Road and along the southern side of that road to the Woodville-Masterton State Highway; thence south-easterly generally along the south-western side of that highway to its junction with the Opaki-Kaiparoto via Mauriceville Main Highway, across the State highway and northerly along the eastern side of the main highway to the middle of the Ruamahanga River and again south-easterly down the middle of that river to the southern side of the Masterton-Castlepoint via Tinui Main Highway; thence easterly along the southern side of that highway to the south-western boundary of Section 514, Whareama Block; thence south-easterly along that boundary and the western boundary of Section 604, Whareama Block; thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the western and southern boundaries of the said Section 604 to the western boundary of Section 546, Whareama Block; thence easterly generally along the western boundary of Section 546 aforesaid, the northern boundary of the land shown on L.T. Plan B 201, the northern and north-eastern boundaries of the land shown on L.T. Plan B 198, the northern boundary of the land shown on L.T. Plan B 205, the northern boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 2303, and the northern boundary of the land shown on L.T. Plan B 290, to the permanent State Forest as described in Gazette, 1897, page 2188; thence north-easterly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 667 and 662, Whareama Block, situated in Block VI, Rewa Survey District; thence easterly generally along the southern boundaries of Sections 648, 649, and 650, the western boundary of Section 614, the northern and north-western boundaries of Section 613, the southern boundaries of Sections 613 and 677, the eastern boundary of Section 677, all of Whareama Block, and the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 10442, to the east-coast road and the crossing of that road; thence northerly along the eastern side of that road to the southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4523; thence easterly generally along that southern boundary and the northern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 4523, to the right bank of the Whareama River and down that bank to the sea coast; thence southerly generally along the sea coast to the middle of the Waihingaia Stream; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of that stream to the southernmost corner of Section 169, Pahaoa Block, along the south-western boundary of that section, the south-western and north-western boundaries of part Section 214, Pahaoa Block, to and along the southern boundary of Lot A shown on D.P. 458, along the southern, western, and northern boundaries of Section 226, Pahaoa Block, to the south-western corner of Section 310, Pahaoa Block, along the western boundaries of that section and Section 309, Pahaoa Block, to and along the southern boundaries of Section 220, Pahaoa Block, the southern and western boundaries of Section 221, Pahaoa Block, the south-western boundary of Section 298, Pahaoa Block, to and down the middle of the Makahika Stream, to and down the middle of the Pahaoa River to its confluence with the Wainuioru River, up the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 294, Pahaoa Block, to and along that boundary and its production to the right bank of the Wainuioru River, up that right bank to and along the northern boundary of part Lot 4, D.P. 3297, and the northern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 3296; thence southerly generally along the western boundaries of part Lot 1 aforesaid, Lot 2, D.P. 3296, and Lot 5, D.P. 3297, to the southernmost corner of that lot; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Section 11, Block XVI, Huangarua Survey District, the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 12, the eastern boundaries of Section 22, the abutment of a public road, the eastern boundaries of Section 23, across Pahaoa Road and along the eastern boundary of Section 24, all of Block XVI aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence south-westerly generally along the south-eastern boundary of Ngawakaakupe part 2D to the northernmost corner of Lot 5, D.P. 18208, along the north-western boundary of that lot, the south-eastern boundary
