PURSUANT to section 149 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the Ashburton County Council stopping the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto.

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto by way of loan of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

Authorising the Purchase by the Central Waikato Electric Power Board of Certain Electric Works from the New Zealand Electricity Department

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 76 of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the purchase by the Central Waikato Electric Power Board from the New Zealand Electricity Department of the electric works described in the Schedule hereto for the sum of £27,100.

SCHEDULE

(a) The land, buildings, switchgear, and associated equipment comprising the New Zealand Electricity Department’s Huntly 50,000-volt substation.

(b) The New Zealand Electricity Department’s Hamilton-Huntly 50,000-volt transmission line.

Reapportioning Representation on the Thames Valley Electric Power Board and Revoking Previous Orders in Council

At the Government House at Wellington this 29th day of July 1959

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby determines as follows:

  1. This Order in Council shall come into force on the date of the next general election of the representatives of the constituent districts of the Thames Valley Electric Power District.

  2. The constituent districts of the Thames Valley Electric Power District, which are bracketed together in the first column of the Schedule hereto, shall be combined districts for the purposes of the said Act.

  3. The local authorities of the constituent districts distinguished in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the letter “(P)” shall be the principal local authorities of the said combined districts.

  4. The number of representatives of each constituent district or combined district on the Thames Valley Electric Power Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district or combined district.

  5. The first elections of the representatives of the combined districts of Piako County and part Waikato County and Thames County and Coromandel County respectively shall be held on the date of the said next general election.

  6. The Orders in Council dated the 23rd day of March 1938 and published in the Gazette on the 24th day of the same month at page 512, reapportioning representation on the Thames Valley Electric Power Board, and dated the 8th day of October 1947 and published in the Gazette on the 9th day of the same month at page 1431, amending the aforesaid Order in Council, are hereby revoked.
