EGMONT COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Counties Act 1956 and the Public Works Act 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Egmont County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute by way of special order the deviation of the Okahu-Wiremu road at its intersection with the Kina Road to improve alignment of same, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the County Clerk to the said Council situate in Napier Street, Opunake, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers, Napier Street, Opunake.

The above special order will be confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the Council to be held in the Council Chambers, Opunake, on 12 May 1959.

MANAWATU CATCHMENT BOARD

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR PURPOSE OF SOIL CONSERVATION AND RIVER CONTROL

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments, and in the matter of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941 and its amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Manawatu Catchment Board intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, those parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of soil conservation and river control. The plan of the said land is deposited at the public office of the Manawatu Catchment Board in Manson and Barr’s Building, Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land and to send such writing within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice to the Secretary, Manawatu Catchment Board, Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North.

PAHIATUA BOROUGH COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to a resolution of the Pahiatua Borough Council made on the 11th day of May 1959, a district scheme has been recommended for approval under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953. The scheme relates to the whole of the Borough of Pahiatua. The scheme has been deposited in the Borough Council Chambers, 167 Main Street, Pahiatua, and is there open for inspection without fee to all persons interested therein at any time when the above place is open to the public.

Objections to the scheme or any part thereof shall be in writing in the form No. 4 prescribed in the First Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1954, and shall be lodged at the office of the Council at any time not later than 4 p.m. on 1 September 1959. At a later date every objection will be open for public inspection, and any person who wishes to support or oppose any objection will be entitled to be heard at the hearing of objections if he notifies the Town Clerk in writing within a period of which public notice will be given.

BANKS PENINSULA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Banks Peninsula Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That for the purpose of providing annual charges on the under-mentioned loans, authorised to be raised by the Banks Peninsula Electric Power Board under the above Act, for the purposes specified below, the said Board hereby makes special rates as follows:

Loan Term Purpose Special Rate
Buildings 1958, £6,500 .. .. 25 years .. Purchasing land, erecting and purchasing One-sixtieth of a penny in the
dwellings pound (£1).
Development 1959, £30,000 .. 20 years .. Reticulation of Board’s District .. One-twelfth of a penny in the
pound (£1).”

Such special rates shall be on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Banks Peninsula Electric Power District and shall be annually recurring, payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of the loans as shown, or until the loans are fully paid off.
