Altering the Boundaries of the Grey and Buller Electric Power Districts

COBHAM, Governor-General

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby alter the boundaries of the Grey and Buller Electric Power Districts by excluding the areas described in the First Schedule hereto from the Buller Electric Power District and including such areas in the Grey Electric Power District, and I hereby declare that the altered boundaries of the Grey and Buller Electric Power Districts shall be those described in the Second and Third Schedules hereto respectively.


FIRST SCHEDULE

  1. All that area in the Nelson Land District, Buller County, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Block V, Inangahua Survey District, and proceeding southerly along the eastern boundary of the said Block V to the middle line of the Buller River; thence generally westerly down the middle line of that river to its intersection with the northern boundary of Block IV, Inangahua Survey District; thence generally easterly along the northern boundaries of the said Blocks IV and V, Inangahua Survey District, to the point of commencement.

  2. All that area in the Nelson Land District, Buller County, bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Section 1, Block VIII, Ohika Survey District, and proceeding northerly along the western boundary of the said Section 1 and that boundary produced to the middle line of the Buller River; thence north-easterly up the middle line of that river to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Block VIII, Ohika Survey District; thence generally southerly along the eastern boundary of the said Block VIII to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 54, Block VIII aforesaid; thence westerly to and along that boundary to its westernmost point; thence northerly and westerly along the western boundary of the said Section 54 and the southern boundary of Section 1, Block VIII aforesaid, to the point of commencement.

As the said areas are shown outlined in red on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 514 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

SECOND SCHEDULE

GREY ELECTRIC POWER DISTRICT

ALL that area partly in the Nelson Land District and partly in the Westland Land District, being portions of the Buller, Inangahua, Grey, and Westland Counties, and including the Boroughs of Greymouth, Runanga, and Brunner, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast being the south-western corner of Section 15, Block V, Brighton Survey District, and proceeding easterly along the northern boundaries of Blocks IX, X, XI, and XII, Brighton Survey District, to the boundary of the Buller County as described in Gazette, 1922, page 231; thence generally north-easterly along the said Buller County boundary to Trig. Station, Berlins Bluff; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of Block VIII, Ohika Survey District, to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 54, Block VIII aforesaid; thence westerly to and along that boundary to its south-western corner; thence northerly along the western boundary of the said Section 54 to the south-eastern corner of Section 1, Block VIII aforesaid; thence westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of the said Section 1 and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle line of the Buller River; thence north-easterly up the middle line of that river to its intersection with the northern boundary of Block IV, Inangahua Survey District, opposite the south-eastern corner of Section 2, Block IV aforesaid; thence generally easterly along the northern boundaries of the said Blocks IV, V, and VI, Inangahua Survey District to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned block; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of the said Blocks VI and X, Inangahua Survey District, to the Buller County boundary as described in Gazette, 1922, page 231; thence north-westerly along the said county boundary to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Block V, Inangahua Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of the said Blocks V, IX, and XIII, Inangahua Survey District, Blocks III, VII, XI, and XV, Reefton Survey District, and Block III, Waitahu Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned block; thence westerly along the southern boundary of the said Blocks III, II, and I, Waitahu Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Block V, Waitahu Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of the said Blocks V, IX, and XIII, Waitahu Survey District, and Block I, Pohaturoa Survey District, to the Grey County boundary as described in the Gazette, 1930, page 359; thence westerly along the said county boundary to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 989, being part Section 5, Square 121, situated in Block XVI, Mawheraiti Survey District, and Block IV, Ahaura Survey District; thence southerly to and along that boundary, the eastern and southern boundaries of part Section 5, Square 121, Block IV, Ahaura Survey District, to the south-eastern boundary of part Section 6, Block IV aforesaid; thence generally westerly along the southern boundaries of part Sections 6 and 7 to the southern corner of part Section 7; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of part Sections 7 and 8, Sections 9 and 10 and their production to the middle of the Waipuna Creek; thence down that creek to its confluence with Noble Creek; thence up the middle of that creek to its source; thence southerly and westerly along the northern side of a track and Reserve 2000 (State forest) to the south-eastern corner of Rural Section 3082; thence westerly and southerly along the northern and western side of Orwell Creek Road and Frolli Road and its production to the middle of the Ahaura River; thence up that river to a point due north of Trig. I, Block VI, Ahaura Survey District; thence due south to Trig. I; thence by a right line to Trig. A, Block X, Ahaura Survey District; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section 1, Block XIII, Ahaura Survey District; thence by a right line to the middle of the intersection of Kotuku - Bell Hill Road with Bell Hill Road; thence southerly along the middle of Bell Hill Road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of part Rural Section 856 (D.P. 936), Block XI, Te Kinga Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary to the eastern corner of the said section; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that section to the southern corner of that section (D.P. 976); thence south-westerly to and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 21, Poerua Settlement, to the southern corner of the said section; thence south-easterly, south-westerly, and north-westerly to and along the north-eastern, south-eastern, and south-western boundaries of Rural Section 2852, situated in Blocks XI and XV, Te Kinga Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the eastern corner of Section 18, Poerua Settlement; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 18 and 17, Poerua Settlement, Lot 1, D.P. 428, Lot 1, D.P. 402, Lot 1, D.P. 1253, Lot 1, D.P. 1133, part Rural Section 868 (D.P. 1049), and Lot 30, D.P. 433, to the southern corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Lots 29, 28, and 27, D.P. 443, and those boundaries produced to the right bank of the Taramakau River; thence westerly and north-westerly along that bank to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Block VII, Waimea Survey District; thence due south along the said block boundary across the Taramakau River to the eastern boundary of Rural Section 2069; thence generally southerly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of Rural Section 2069 to the north-east corner of Rural Section 3185; thence generally southerly along the eastern boundary of that section and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that section and Rural Section 3849
