Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the portion of road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

That portion of the Christchurch-Kumara Junction State Highway No. 57 from a point 7 chains south-east of its junction with the access road to Springfield Railway Station to a point 24 chains north-west of the said junction.

1. That Warrant, under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 22nd day of August 1955,* which relates to an area in the Township of Te Puia in Waipu County is hereby revoked.

2. The portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.

That portion of the Gisborne-Te Araroa State Highway No. 24 at Te Puia from a point 3 chains west of its junction with the Te Puia-Waipiro Bay Main Highway No. 334 to a point 4 chains north of its junction with Cemetery Road.

Also, that portion of the Te Puia-Waipiro Bay Main Highway No. 334 at Te Puia from a point 1 chain north of its junction with Wheeler Street to its junction with the Gisborne-Te Araroa State Highway No. 24.
