Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the Land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown Land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 22nd day of December 1958.

ALL those pieces of land in the South Auckland Land District, situated in Block III, Otanake Survey District, Auckland R.D., described as follows:

Situated in the Borough of Te Kuiti.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 133195 (S.O. 34868) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land for the purposes of the Land Act 1948 as from the 22nd day of December 1958 subject to the building-line condition imposed by Order in Council No. 1849, Nelson Land Registry.

The Memorial Scroll for Service in Korea
The following conditions relating to the institution and issue of the Memorial Scroll for Service in Korea are hereby published for general information.

CONDITIONS RELATING TO THE MEMORIAL SCROLL FOR SERVICE IN KOREA
-
Her Majesty the Queen has approved the institution of a Memorial Scroll to commemorate those members of the Armed Forces who lost their lives as a result of service in support of the United Nations action in Korea.
-
The Scroll is surmounted by the royal arms in colour (with supporters) and—
(a) Where the member of a Force was killed or died before returning from service in the Korean action, it shall be inscribed as follows:

WHO GAVE HIS LIFE IN A DISTANT LAND
WITH OTHERS OF HIS COUNTRY
IN THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM AND PEACE
UNITED NATIONS — KOREA 1950–1953
(b) Where the member of a Force died after return from and as a result of service in the Korean action, shall be inscribed as follows:

IN THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM AND PEACE
UNITED NATIONS — KOREA 1950–1953
- (1) The persons eligible for the Scroll shall be the next of kin of New Zealand servicemen who lost their lives while serving in support of the United Nations action in Korea during the period commencing on the 2nd day of July 1950 and ending with the 27th day of July 1953, or who have died or subsequently die from causes attributable to that service.
(2) The next of kin eligible for the Scroll shall be the surviving relative (whether by marriage, blood, or adoption) of the deceased serviceman who is first in the following order of priority: Widow, eldest surviving son, eldest surviving daughter, father, mother, eldest surviving brother, eldest surviving sister, eldest surviving half-brother, eldest surviving half-sister:
Provided that the Minister of Defence may in his discretion direct that the Scroll be granted to a relative of the deceased serviceman who, in the opinion of the Minister, is better entitled to receive the Scroll than the next of kin determined in accordance with the foregoing order of priority.

A New Zealand serviceman is a person who has attested or engaged for service in any of the New Zealand Armed Forces.

If any question arises as to the grant of or eligibility for the Scroll it shall be decided by the Minister of Defence whose decision shall be final.
