Limited Speed Zones Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That Warrant, under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 20th day of March 1951,* which relates to an area at Pukeuri in Waitaki County is hereby revoked.

  2. The portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.

SITUATED within Waitaki County—

  1. That portion of the Timaru-Dunedin State Highway No. 59 at Pukeuri from a point 16 chains south of its junction with the Pukeuri-Kurow-Omarama Main Highway No. 122 to a point 24 chains north of the said junction.

  2. That portion of the Pukeuri-Kurow-Omarama Main Highway No. 122 at Pukeuri from its junction with the Timaru-Dunedin State Highway No. 59 to a point 2 chains north of the said junction.

Extending a 30 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. So much of the Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 27th day of July 1937,* as relates to Kaponga Town District is hereby revoked.

  2. The portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Kaponga Town District—

Opunake-Eltham Main Highway No. 822 (from the western boundary of Kaponga Town District to a point 5 chains west of the Kaupokonui Stream Bridge and from the eastern boundary of Kaponga Town District to a point 13 chains east of Dawson Street).

Manaia-Mount Egmont Main Highway No. 824 (from the southern boundary of Kaponga Town District to Old Cemetery Road).

  1. That Warrant, under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 1st day of April 1952,* which relates to part of the Wellington-Paekakariki Centennial State Highway No. 34 in Tawa Flat Borough is hereby revoked.

  2. The portion of road specified in the First Schedule to this notice is hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  3. The portion of road specified in the Second Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.

SITUATED within Taieri County—

That portion of the Dunedin-Gore State Highway No. 61 at Fairfield from a point 4 chains west of its junction with Howarth Road to a point 8 chains west of its junction with Scroggs Hill Road.

And from the western boundary of Green Island Borough to a point 8 chains west along the said State highway.

Land Acquired as a Public Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, notice hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereunder has been acquired under the said Act to form part of the Ocean Grove Domain to be administered as a public domain by the Domain Board.
